On the first week of practice:
"The whole week I saw a lot of good things. Our guys made some plays on offense and made some plays on defense. I saw our guys get really good and improve in some certain areas. The offensive line did some good things. On the offensive side of the ball a few guys that stood out - (quarterback) Jordan Webb did some good things. (running back) Angus Quigley did some great things. (tight end) Tim Biere did some good things overall on the week.
"On the defensive side of the ball the guys caused some turnovers, made some plays and showed they could run. (linebacker) Justin Springer is a guy that stood out and did some good things all week long. (safety) Olaitan Oguntodu did some good things. Also, (defensive tackle) Jamal Greene. Another guy was linebacker Steven Johnson. He did some pretty good things the first week."
On what players are getting more playing time:
"We are going to continue to move around guys. We have people who will be up and down in groups. We have two different groups who go in on 11 on 11. We are moving some guys around to get more reps and some are going to get less reps so we can evaluate people in all different situations and parts of the game and see how they respond. We will continue to evaluate and see how it goes."
On which quarterbacks are getting more playing time:
"(Jordan) Webb, (Kale) Pick and (Christian) Matthews are getting more reps than the other guys at this particular time... All three of those guys bring something a little different to the game as a quarterback. They all have talent. We feel we have some guys who can do some good things for us. That doesn't mean that when I talk to you next week, it might not change around."
On the quarterback competition:
"They are focused. Everybody is. From the public and media standpoint I know that quarterback is a position that everybody is closely watching. Everybody on our football team is very focused and they are all intense. Everybody is vying for a spot, so everybody is trying to figure out things. Nothing is permanent and won't be permanent after we play the spring game. We will have an ending depth chart, but up until then there are going to be a lot of different parts moving."
AJ Steward has moved from wide receiver to tight end
Christian Matthews will play both quarterback and wide receiver
Justin Puthoff has moved from tight end to fullback
