Around SBN: SB Nation interviews Jerome Bettis

Kerry Meier to the Falcons

Well, looks like I was right about Meier possibly moving into the fifth.  At the same time I'm proving to be VERY wrong on Briscoe.

As for Meier, he heads to the Atlanta Falcons and an improving organization with Matt Ryan.  This is a great situation for Meier and a great pickup by the Falcons.  Glad to see Meier get a shot and I think without a doubt he'll work with every ounce of his energy to get a spot on that roster.

Head over tothe Falcoholic for perspective from Atlanta.

with Briscoe

Do you think it’s off the field issues and his lack of focus sometimes that’s pushing him back? I didn’t really think he was going in the 2nd like he kept saying, although I was hoping, but I didn’t think it would take this long for his name to be called.

I mean...

I’ve seen 2 punters go ahead of him. Seriously? Wow!

in a word...

YES…I think it’s obvious his lack of effort in the classroom and the off the field issues are hurting him big time.

On the other hand…it’s GREAT to see a guy like Meier get rewarded for what he’s done.

53 Conference Championships!! and now 6 IN A ROW!!! Holy Hell...Good Luck with That!!

For sure!

Meier is a 100% football player! The only thing he is missing is elite speed. Other than that the guy has everything you could ever want in a football player.

good fit for Kerry in Atlanta

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

Dez Briscoe to Cincinatti

in Round 6, pick 22 (191 overall).

Well, that sucked.

About time!

I don’t know if I like where he is heading though. I don’t know if I see him really fitting in there. They already have a plethera of WRs there, right?

wideout was an area they needed to go for with an eye on the future.

Goodbye to one of my favorite Jayhawks!

Do you think he’ll ever play something other than wide receiver?

I'm guessing he'll be on special teams coverage units

Helluva week for Meier

That kid’s had one of the best days of his life and probably his worst in less than a week. Unbelievable.

Well, that sucked.
