Zach Peters Announcement Next?
This is getting fun. Jayhawkslant is reporting a pending announcement this week from 2012 small forward recruit Zach Peters. Finalists include Kansas, Kentucky, UNC and Texas. Hints that this could be very promising for Coach Self and the Jayhawks.

It would be nice if he picked KU and then grew a few more inches before he came here. 6’9" as a sophmore is just plain sick! haha
If he picks Kansas...
it will be the first piece of what could be an incredible class…one of the best.

What's his rating?
Looks like Rivals doesn’t have a ranking and Scout.com has him as a 3-star player. Obviously, for a HS sophomore, ratings don’t mean a whole lot, probably. Just curious is all. Is this kid truly elite?

Texas, UNC, Kentucky and Kansas are his final four. How many non elite players do you know attending those schools? Especially with scholarship offers as a sophomore?

except for Kansas, I guess. I shot for the moon with my other 3 applications, knowing full well that I wouldn’t get in any of those places. No, it was pretty much KU Law or nothing for this homer.
Of course, owning a home and having a wife who owns her own local business and having a baby boy had nothing to do with that decision. No…nothing at all…

1st ranked in 8th grade? I understand thats likely just him being one of the tallest prospects in 8th grade, but jeez. Self is rolling em up. I think its safe to say we are seeing the results of a national championship on recruiting.

The best was the one comparing Calipari to Rupp, saying Cal is the best coach in the history of the program. Oh, and that everyone talks about Rupp winning in the 40s negatively not because they cheated but because they took all of NY’s glory….I just don’t know where to start.
Calipari will NOT get Ellis.
This cannot happen. I’d rather see him go to KState if need be.

just basically indicating that he has a strong feeling the selection will be Kansas. Just based on the fact that those guys have the conversations with these kids, you’d have to believe they’d have the best hunch of anyone.

hey denver i really enjoyed the interviews you did for the football prospects at teh junior day earlier in theyear. I was sjust wondering if you will be doingsomething similar to that for the spring game, i know there will be a lot of recruits there
always trying to get those when I can...
definitely have contacts with a few of the guys that will be there…sounds like KC’s going to attend so we might even see if we can’t get a little in person talk.
Short answer though…one of my favorite things to do…and I’m always working on those types of contact, interviews and updates.

Can you take down last years football schedule/record? It kills me everytime I see it. We’re in a new era now. Nothing but Bowl games in our future baby! That is unless we don’t win enough games, but in that case, off with Turner Gill’s head! ;-)

I’ve heard a lot of people say we don’t stand much of a chance with him but he would be a nice get for KU. Projected as a better TE but I think he could play both TE or DE here.
