Shucks....

I tuned into KSHB's evening news tonight just to see what kinda B.S. spin Jack Harry could come up with on today's game...wasn't there tonight. I normally don't watch their news, due to his propensity to get a boner anytime MU does anything remotely significant, but just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Is he still doing the sports for them?

I hoped to find something on KSHB's website, and this was all I found...way back from the 23rd though.

Actually a little out there. Even for Jack.  I guess so many repeated years of disappointment can wear a man out...even one as 'gracious' as Jack.

You probably don't remember the days when

KC only really had Jack Harry and Don Fortune as their sports media personalities. Pile of suck right there. I don’t live in KC any longer but I don’t miss Kietzman or Harry at ALL.

Not sure about what years that would have been

for that reign of Harry.

He’s always been bad, but he wasn’t ever the only guy it seemed like. Frank Bowl for WDAF Fox 4 was a pretty level-minded guy in my opinion. I never listened to Kietzman, did go to H.S. with his Nephew though.

Only person worse than Jack Harry….Billy Packer, do not get me started on Billy Packer….

I went to high school with Frank Boal's son and met him (Frank) a few times

He is a really nice guy. Is he not on TV anymore? I haven’t been back in OP too long and don’t watch any local sports coverage

Frank Boal just does the radio thing now...

He retired from Fox 4 a few months ago (actually I think his contract was up and he elected not to pursue a new deal). Now he does guest spots for an hour or so on the radio a few times a week for 810 WHB. He also covers some sporting events (such as the KU/KSU game) for 810.

Always liked Frank. He was my favorite TV sportscaster in KC. Seemed like he was always in a good mood and never went on rants (like Jack Harry) or made a multitude of on-air mistakes (like Len Dawson). You could always count on Len to butcher the pronunciation of someone’s name.

Yeah

Those reasons and more are why I don’t tune into any local coverage. Its just…not good

The best thing ever is

when Keitz has Jack on his show for a full hour at a time. Just absolute magic, the shit that comes out of their mouths.

Watch for Jack tonight

I believe he has Saturday’s off. He usually works their expanded Sunday night coverage. No doubt he’ll have something to say tonight. I’m sure he’ll have something to say about the Wildcats as well.

Okay

Thanks for the tip.

Ah Jack....

spends 2 seconds admitting he was wrong and kissing KU’s butt….. then 5 minutes talking about the Adult Entertainer thing…

I didn’t know John Kerry was giving sportscasting lessons…

Should we just start

a whole page here and dedicate it to Jack and his great sportscasting tales? It could just be forever pinned at the top of the site, or something like that.
