yep...very crappy night...

at first I was livid, but then when I realized I really wouldn’t be able to see it at home anyway I was mad at that fact instead of the travel. What’s worse is that my next trip for work is the 18-20th in New Orleans. Good news is there are first and second round games in New Orleans. Bad news is, it’s not likely Kansas and the Jayhawks will inevitably play when I’m flying in and then out.

you know I actually rarely travel now...

used to do about 3 overnights a week and now probably 12 a year. Just happens that two trips are in March this year. I usually make it standard practice to schedule everything around basketball in March, but I’ve got a new boss this year, trying to stay in good standing for the moment. Not sure telling your new boss that you can’t go somewhere because Kansas is on is a good idea.

When I was down courtside before the Iowa St. game,

the sound booth guy had a decibel meter on the whole time. The pre-game decibel level (again, this was for Iowa St., mind you) was pretty consistently between 85 and 90 for the entire 40 minutes before tip time. Pretty incredible.

I think there may be something

about contracts with the school about broadcasting. Something to do with locality and national broadcast. Whatever it is, it’s stupid.

Maybe they should adjust, but almost all of these are good calls. K-State just forces you to get handsy on defense.

You just have to mentally focus on moving your feet and not reaching out and trust in the help defense.

Opening Minutes

What happens at the beginning of this half will really dictate how this game will go. If the Jayhawks come out strong and go on a run to start the half, then the kitties will be playing catch up for most of the game. However, if that’s in reverse, this could be a neck and neck game for the second half. Against K-State I don’t like that kind of game.
