Well, we have a Big East team in...just not the one people may have expected. We also have a "mid major" in, preparing to play a Final Four seven miles from their campus. Today we could see a SEC team get in...just not the one anyone expected. Or perhaps a Big 12 team...just not the one people expected. It's been a wild tournament.
Last weekend wasn't good for Kansas fans, yesterday might have helped minimize the pain for some. For my money it's go Baylor and go Michigan State today, although I'm not entirely against Duke either. Will it be another incredible day of college hoops? Let's hops so!

KState gone, Kentucky gone…the only thing that would take the entire sting of our loss away would be Baylor beating Duke today and going to the Final Four. Go Bears!

So
do we now have a real rival for years to come in K-State? They had a pretty great season and although I would have freaked out if they made it to the Final Four and we didn’t, I’m happy to have a serious rival again. Will K-State be the favorite to win the league next year?

and I think their real test will come after next year when they have to replace Pullen.
I haven’t looked into their recruiting or anything but I think they can get by ok next year without Clemente but after they lose both of those guys, I’m not so sure.

Watching Tennessee, sometimes I feel like it's like watching a Kansas team

fortunately since it isn't in Detroit...
they won’t be able to go on and on about the economy. I have to say I can’t get over Izzo, the guy is a GREAT coach. I believe they said 7 Final Fours since 1999…the guy goes on average every other year.

For some reason Coach K and Duke...
don’t bother me the way they used to. I think he’s hitting his second wind as a Coach and it’s actually nice to see after that little 6 year hiatus. He runs a good program and has been unapologetic for doing it “his” way over the last decade.

well...
a bit disappointing for the Big 12. Arguably the best the conference has ever been and not a team to the Final Four. Bit of a let down. Baylor could come back strong, K-State should, Missouri could be back in the conversation, and I expect Kansas should be in decent shape despite any early departures. As for Texas, not sure what to make of them, A&M? Maybe. Could Colorado find it’s way into the tourney? I’ll have a Big 12 look ahead type post early this week for some discussion.
