Funny, in 2008 I wasn’t nervous at all facing UNLV in the 1 vs. 8/9 game. This year I’m terrified of UNI in the same game. Sheesh

Exactly.
That’s what I see as our greatest asset in the tourney – we can win a game in any way that an opponent wants to play it. We can slow it down and smother you on D, score 90 and run all day, whatever you wanna do.
Not that we don’t typically dictate the way the game’s played anyway, but if somehow the other team gets to play “their game,” we can still beat them at it.

There is NOTHING respectable about that pathetic performance. X missing free throws, the mind-boggling decision to leave Miles Simon 2.0 WIDE OPEN, and the failure to give a flying fuck for 33 minutes is what is going to stick with me. Northern Iowa played a great game but our failures dominated their execution.

If we could have put up a decent 5 minute stretch anywhere in this game we might have been ok, but we were simply mediocre throughout. UNI had a good first half, but they weren’t that good the second 20, and we took no advantage of that.

and honestly, I think another year of Danny Manning would only help refine Cole’s very rough offensive game. I think defensively Cole is ready right now and you can be damn sure those snakes called agents will be in his ear using his defensive prowess and family financial issues to leverage him into leaving. I think he should stay and get us another banner. X has no business being in the NBA right now but scouts will love his athleticism, NBA body, and his workouts against chairs and other inanimate objects.

Yea, we had a 2-0 lead,
then trailed the rest of the game, and looked panicked throughout. If we played well and had tough games, then got nipped at the wire by OSU you might grumble a bit, but we have no right to complain after that performance.

Unless Withey is a lot better than I expect, I think we benefit from pressing EVERY game, a large portion of the game. Play a 9 man rotation, with 2 or 3 four min. a game players. But will he decide to go against the halfcourt game he obviously prefers?

Why are you guys ripping on Cole’s offensive game? I havent watched too much Kansas, but it seemed like that little hook of his was unstoppable. They could have used more of him and less of Collins forcing plays

He does have it down, but most teams take that direction away, and he tends to struggle.

i have never seen a bigger baby than #23, mario little, for kansas. he should be absolutely ashamed of himself for that crying jag that he put on in the middle of the basketball floor after they lost. i can see being very dissappointed and even devestated after that lame display by the jayhawks. but this was way… WAY over the top and disgusting by any and all standards! he needs to get his priorities straight. if he defines his persona and character by his jockstrap to the extent demonstrated by these histrionics, then professional conselling is needed for this young man (term used extremely loosely).

Think about the sacrifices that kid made for this team this year...
he took a red-shirt and practiced all season with them without ever stepping foot on the court. He went there everyday to try and make the other guys better and never once got any credit in a box score or a highlight on ESPN and he ends up getting today’s game as a reward for that?
