Warden's Bracket Challenge
One last front page push for Warden's Bracket Challenge. Check it out, it's a pretty fun variation on picking teams. All you need is about 10 minutes, a little bit of strategery and perhaps an affinity to risk. On your mark, get set, GO!! Tourney starts tomorrow, don't miss out on.
It's time for the 2nd Annual Warden's Bracket Challenge! For this Bracket Challenge, you're not going to fill out a bracket or try to pick every game. Very simple rules and explanation. From last year's post:
There are a few problems I have with the typical bracket games. For example, lets say someone picks Syracuse to win it all. Syracuse is upset in the Sweet 16, you are now down an automatic 60 points! Thanks for playing, we'll see ya later! The other problem is early round scoring, 1 point for picking the first round games correct. You can pick 3/4 of the games wrong and be fine, as long as you correctly pick the Final Four and Championship.
Here's how the Wardens Bracket Challenge works:
- Pick 10 teams
- You are awarded points equal to that teams seed for every win.
- Most points win.
For example, if you pick Missouri as one of your teams and they beat Clemson, you get 10 points. If they win in the 2nd round, you get 10 more points. Or you could pick Villanova and get 2 points for every game they win, with a maximum of 12 points. Strategy is yours to decide, high seed teams and hope for 1 or 2 wins or lower seeded teams and hope for a run to the Elite 8.
Pick your teams in the comments and I'll keep track of the results. We can't let Hunter S. Royal win again!

True, I did go for an "upsets are overrated" set
I have to say I like this style of pickem. It seems to add more fun to first round games than a full bracket, and is much less tedious and capricious. Also seems easier to compute via spreadsheet (yeah, I entered everyone’s picks in Excel, so what?)
I haven't gotten that far yet,
wanna be the official scorekeeper?
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
Sure!
Man, right as a bunch of new scores are added.

End of Round 1 Scoring Update

I’ll say it again here. “Groupthink” is a fake pick group made up of the 10 most popular picked teams, and “waynewinston.com” is a fake group made from the results of Sagarin simulations done in this post that I saw on the internet. I just added them in for fun. Please ignore them if all you care about is how you do vs. the other humans.
the good news is
last place gets his/her money back

If Wisconsin and Baylor can get a few more wins each,

Feasted on the upsets and those points will stop coming starting today.

St. Mary's over Nova really supports that theory, eh?

St. Mary's for the MFW
seriously how crap was nova this tournament? Nearly lost opening game to a 15 seed then lose to a ten seed. Puke might cruise to the final 4 the way that bracket is going…

Sweet Sixteen Score Update

16 of the lesser teams in the land are still playing basketball for some reason—-perhaps to decide who’s second best.
KCSince88 still leads, but it’s not sewn up yet. There’s still an outside chance that Warden11, tequilaprophet, or TKELuke can pass him.
Also rockchalk grabs the dubious honor of having all teams out first, which means that KU Grad 08 and I are locked in a race to not finish last.
New rule
person with the most teams left at this point gets 50 bonus points
