Big 12 Tournament - Championship - Sprint Center - Kansas City, MO
Well, here we go. What's not to get excited about in this one. Round three, Kansas vs. Kansas State. I have to admit there is something special about a Big 12 tournament championship game against your rival. Sure there's the risk that they win and as Jayhawk fans we have to eat a little humble pie, but frankly, that's ok. This game brings a different type of anticipation to the day than a game against Baylor or any other Big 12 opponent ever could have hoped to.
Kansas has started slow two games in a row, Kansas State has looked pretty darn good at times. It's always tough to beat a very good team three times in a season, so we'll see how this one goes. Either way this is a great game for Kansas and Kansas State in preparation for the tournament next week. A great game for the Big 12 and it certainly can't hurt Kansas City's cause when it comes to hosting this tournament every year. Kansas City is where this tournament belongs and today's final is going to put on full display all the reasons why. The Sprint Center is going to be absolutely rockin tonight and the Big 12 couldn't ask for a better pair of teams or atmosphere for this marquee matchup on ESPN. Hard to say which way this one goes but it should be a GREAT one. Rock Chalk and enjoy!!
