Today's the Wide Receivers. Just saw Kerry Meier run the gauntlet, missed the beginning but I thought I'd throw this up for anyone watching. Hockey on as well today.

Briscoe unofficial...

4.6 forty time. Should keep him from dropping to the really late rounds. Not great but also not bad for what he does well.

One-tenth of a second over 40 yards equates to a 3 foot difference. It’s silly how much importance people put on that drill. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 at the Combine. He turned out ok. I mean, he’s no Heyward-Bey…

Not the best reviews from the NFL net guys for Dez...

9 reps on 225 bench? says he must not spend much time in the weightroom

Sounds like Meier checked in...

at the low 4.6 range in the 40 as well.

And here we go.

Operation Final Four is a go. Proceed to target.

I don't watch a lot of hockey...

but I hate being behind even just one goal. It has the feeling of being tied and the other team gets the last shot in basketball.

Not a good sign in this game.

Canada is a big favorite and the longer we could keep it scoreless, the more pressure builds on them. With them getting an early goal it puts the pressure back on us.

I like to see them getting physical

Probably favors us. And on a side note, I finally see how douchey Corey Perry is. Always rooting for him kinda made me blind to it.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

I know nothing about hockey

but it seems like they’re on USA’s side of the ice a whole lot. I’m guessing that’s a bad sign.

Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

That's true,

though we’ve had some decent scoring chances. A good goalie can help out in a one game final though, and Miller for the US has been great. Though just as I type this Canada scores again, so we’re probably cooked.

Should be a fun final period at least.

Also seen a couple of broken sticks

is that common?

Yes, that's quite common.

If they tried to switch to metal they’d probably kill each other the way they hack at each other in the NHL.

On a side note...

I’m glad this isn’t a hockey blog because we would be seriously lacking and our OGT’s would suck.

Although

if Slam & Ovechwin started posting here you might get 4000 posts per thread. :)

Wow

Of course it would have to be effin Cindy Crosby.

Wonder how long we’ll have to hear about this one? Oh well, good publicity for hockey if nothing else.

2014 can’t come soon enough. They’re going down when not on their home ice.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

If the NHL keeps letting them play

Never underestimate Gary Bettman’s ability to screw everything up. He seriously doesn’t like shutting down the league for the tournament (even though it’s probably the best showcase his sport will ever get). I’ve also read that several players (especially the hosting Russians) have already said they will play no matter what the NHL says.

So yeah, it could be a giant fustercluck.

"Here are our top priorities: recruit, beat Missouri, recruit, win the North, recruit, win the Big 12, and in most cases if you win the Big 12 then you're playing for a National Championship. And then we're going to recruit."

by KennyGregoryRockThaCradle on Feb 28, 2010 6:32 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, there's no way he does it

There’s no way he can do it after this game. I think the players want to do it too much, and not having the best players would only lose fan interest. It does suck that the American sports are interrupted by international competitions(MLS also takes a break for the World Cup).

NBC did a very mediocre job overall, I really hope someone else gets the Olympics soon.

This was the best exposure possible for the sport, which is stuck on Versus which DirecTV customers like myself can’t even watch. I wish ESPN would pick it up again.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

Well poop

yet another thing Crosby has won that Ovie hasn’t though.

Guess I'll just put this here

Stuckey ran a 4.4 today, and may have launched himself up the draft boards.

Watching him catch so many guys from behind over the years, this doesn’t shock me, to be honest.
