Thug, inner-city, whatever to from the sticks… I mean what makes these kids say “hey you know what would be a good idea? Breaking the law and doing dumb shit that will get me suspended, kicked off my team, lose my scholorship, etc”

And don’t give me “they are young kids” bullshit. I managed to have a lot of fun and kick plenty of ass (not literally) in college without getting into trouble once. And I’m not the smoothest dude in the world.

IT just kind of baffles me how these kids get a free education, place to live, and in many examples, a better life overall and they just piss on it by being stupid.

Throw him off the team, make an example with him, and show people its not tolerated. Lord knows were deep enough that it won’t matter

but let’s not all jump off the deep end here. I seems like he probably got in a tussle at a dive bar and got arrested. He’ll miss some time, of course. He’ll be in HCBS’s doghouse much longer than that. I’m not excusing what he did (and, for the record, neither is Mario, from the sounds of it). He’ll take the heat, and accept the consequences. Let’s hope he’s the better for it at the end of it all.

In a statement, KU coach Bill Self announced he has suspended Little indefinitely.

"Mario remains a member of our team while we work through this process," Self said, "but we have suspended him indefinitely from competition while we gather the facts of this incident.

“Mario exercised very poor judgment in his handling of a situation. We’re disappointed in his behavior; it’s unfortunate that our university, our program and his teammates all have to deal with this negative issue."

Little, 22, was booked about 5 a.m., posted bond and he was released, according to a jail staffer and records. He was given notice to appear in Lawrence Municipal Court.

"I apologize for what happened last night," Little said in a statement. "I feel awful, and I understand that I will have to deal with the consequences of my actions. I accept responsibility for those actions, and I apologize to my teammates for being irresponsible."

We’ll see how HCBS deals with another domestic battery issue. As has been mentioned above, he gave CJ Giles a second chance, but we’ll see what happens with Mario.

I think I would probably “black out” in anger. Of course, I would still be responsible for whatever I did in that state, and violence against women is NEVER ok. But, I dunno… I have a hard time making a judgment on Little’s character because of this incident if that’s how this went down.

Of course, my definition of a “girlfriend” could be very different from a KU basketball players’…

O RLY? Is this why you identified her as “a former manager for the basketball team who left the team a few weeks ago”? Thanks for protecting the victim by limiting who it could be to about 3 people. I’m no genius, but how about “has worked as a manager for a KU athletic team”? At least make people work to find out who it is.

Little pushed his girlfriend into a sink

Did she tuck into a ball, or was it a really big sink? Or maybe she’s only like a foot tall and an inch around, so he was trying to shove her down into the drain? Maybe “Little pushed his girlfriend, causing her to hit against the sink”? Unless he actually did push her head into the bowl of the sink, in which case you could say just that.
