This is a pretty interesting piece done by OTL on how Calipari made room for "his" guys when he came to Kentucky. While there's no doubt the dude is a sleazeball and this was just egregious abuse of the system, it does make me wonder about our own situation. Were Appleton and Thomas forced out in a similar way? Or did they realize on their own that they likely would never crack the rotation, and wanted to go somewhere they could get more PT? Personally, I really don't like how scholarships are only for one year. It's not fair to players to have them basically sign their lives away in their Letters of Intent only to make things so pro-coach/administration once they get to a school. We've obviously had quite a few transfers away from the program under Self's watch. Do you think some of them were forced out the way Calipari did at Kentucky?
