Rock Chalk Talk Pick 'em Week 1 Standings

Week 1 of Rock Chalk Talk Pick 'em is in the books and I pretty much sucked for the first week which is greatly disappointing.  I blame the apparent oversight in picking Illinois.  My blind faith that Dan Hawkins would suddenly become a good coach.  A unabashed hatred for Nick Saban.  Believing our next opponent was better than they are.  And finally, my assumption the Notre Dame couldn't possibly get back on track this year.  Oh well, there's always next week.

Congrats go out to Prophet's Picks who wins week 1 of the pick 'em contest and currently sits in sole possession of first place in the overall standings.  Goat of the week is Foreigner who either has horrible football pick 'em knowledge or more likely neglected to make his pics.  It's ok, there's always next week.

Next weeks picks will be up today so login, make your selections and get them in on time for this weeks games.   THE FIRST GAME FOR PICK'EM THIS WEEK KICKS OFF ON THURSDAY SO BE SURE TO MAKE YOUR SELECTIONS BEFORE THEN.

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

perhaps you shouldn’t drink when you are picking and then maybe you’d get more than 6 : )

well against my better judgment I somehow picked Illinois and Colorado to win early in the week. I can’t figure out why because going into both those games I thought Missouri and CSU had great chances to win. I need to pay more attention.

Same here.

At least I went with my brain heart and picked Miami last night. Honestly, I though FSU would win. Sometimes it pays to be biased.

It defaults

as a certain pick. I don’t know exactly what, but I am in two pick’em leagues and forgot to pick in both.

In Yahoo, I was left with just 17 points, as I remembered before the Ole Miss Memphis game and picked up a bunch for that. But I got zero for all others.

In this Fun Office Pools, they have a default pick. So even if you don’t pick (me! me! me!), you could still get some points.

That’s why you and me got 6.

AP has us at 24 and Mizzou at 25

FYI

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably propaganda.

Yes, 2nd place! If I could’ve gotten one of the last 3 picks right, I would be in first :(

Wow, some tough picks this week.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

I may be first place in picks...

…but I’d be the first to give rockchalk the award for best picks name. Everytime I see “The Slow Dancers of Fury” I crack up.

And having just made my picks for the week...

…I feel I’ll be lucky if I go .500 this time around.

Same here,

I need to start paying attention to the teams and games a little bit before I pick.

Bragging rights on here is a close second to actually winning money.

I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.

Thank you, thank you.

I have accepted my nickname as Slow Dance around here.
