Open Game Thread :: Game #3 :: Duke 1-1 (0-0) @ Kansas 2-0 (0-0)
Duke Blue Devils at Kansas Jayhawks, Sep 19, 2009 11:00 AM CDT
Is it just me, or does this game already feel like a victory?
I mean, it's weird. I even felt a touch of nerves before Northern Colorado, but now, it's like I'm not even considering a possible upset. Which is always disconcerting. Vegas thinks we win, and win big. The numbers say we win and win big, although by not as much as Vegas says. But it seems as if everyone is talking about how badly we'll beat Duke, as if they aren't even allowed to win or something. It's crazy.
We're going to win. It isn't that I'm lacking confidence, or anything. It just seems odd that it's such a given. I don't know. Maybe I'm just way off in outerspace.
Whatever. I should have expanded and made an article out of it but hey, whatareyougonnado?
In any case, get ready to watch Kansas kick some big-time butt. The game is on VERSUS, which may or may not have been at fault for not being on DirecTV anymore. I don't know. In any case, I hope you have VERSUS. If not, I can covertly help you out, so nobody knows. Kind of like we're spies, or something.
And it better work tomorrow. Because if I can't see Duke get its' ass kicked, I just may cry.
I'll see you on the other side. I'm writing this the night before, because who knows when I'll be up. But I will promise you this: I'll be up by kickoff, and I'll be commenting throughout the game. Promise.
ROCK CHALK!
P.S. I suppose I should make a prediction, huh. Well, I'm feeling super-duper confident, so, well, let's say I'm going Kansas 49 Duke 14. We cover!

Any internet radio coverage of the game?
I just realized that DirecTV is in a pissing match with Comcast and is no longer carrying Versus…. Any Internet Radio that will carry the game live? 105.9 Lazer? KLWN? Any Dukie stations? Thanks

Be back before gametime.
But everyone: GO READ A DEEPER LOOK!
Get angry at the Dookies before we crush their souls!
OK. That's awesome.
I remember being in Easter Vigil Mass in college once when we were in the tournament and the priest even said beforehand that he wished he could put a TV or radio on the altar during the whole thing.

Go Hawks...
Luckily I’ve got Vs, but have to leave the house around 12:00 today. Perfect.
I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.
checkin in
At Pourhouse in NYC. Will check in spottily. Lite turnout today- hope Jayhawk Nation isn’t overconfident.

I honest have no idea. I just don’t know. We went back to the offensive line we should have been running all along and we get our most talented WR back today. That being said, the defense probably still sucks. My extreme bias says we win by at least 10, but my greatest fear is losing by 17.

Our offense has looked pretty automatic so far in the passing game.
Gave our D a rest too. If we can just force a turnover or two and get a few stops we’ll get going
That was a wonderful response.
Exactly how you draw it up.
However: how the fuck can an offensive player with the ball get a facemask penalty?

So, I assume the Jayhawks woke up?
I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.
The D was pretty good after the first TD by Duke.
Offense still bumbled around a lot. Couple of drops by Wilson & Briscoe that would have been TD’s. Toben struggled early, but he started to bulldoze people in the second half.

Stupid North Carolina
They got a BS penalty call and made me lose my pick on that game. Dumb refs.
Insanity is just a state of mind.
Bastards, as usual.
I don't know, I like to think that things started out initially with good intentions, but then we just loused it up. Kind of like intelligence. We have this glorious thing that allowed us to survive for millenia and now we use it to write porn film plots involving pterodactyls. Talk about wasting the gift.

Michael Jordan must have had a big bet down
and got to the refs. With him, that isn’t even being facetious.

And Nebraska gives up a long KO return
on the first play.

I don't really care who wins.
I kind of even want the Huskahs to win.
It will be interesting to see how they look, though.
Same here.
I usually want the Huskers to lose because of the arrogance of the fans, but the Big 12 has been sucking, so we almost need them to show something. But, no big deal either way.

Pretty sure I picked the Huskers.

I was going to take V-Tech
on the centsport site, but the line was 6 favoring Tech. The way they grind out games, I thought it was too much.
