OVERFLOW THREAD :: Game #2 :: Kansas @ UTEP
Not a terrible half. Todd Reesing had one of his worse halves in a Kansas uniform, but an incredible defensive half, particularly from the defensive line (what was that, 5 sacks? 6? WUT?!?) has us up 20. That's a lot, in case you were interested.
So, yeah, here is the place for all second-half comments to go. We are trying to get to 2,000 on the night, preferably not including the all-day OGT. That's like cheating. That means we need AT LEAST another 1,200 comments in this thread.
Let's get it, let's get it, let's get it. It needs to happen.
Also, go Ohio State. Old habits die hard. It'll suck tomorrow when there are a billion people yelling "O-H" and expecting people to yell back "I-O", but I can't possibly, ever root for USC. Just can't do it. Not the football team, at least.
Comment your heart out.

thanks for the addition.
So, 2,000 including the all day thread should be easy as pie.
Including both Game Threads plus the Early Games Thread plus the Postgame Thread and we could get 3K.
This is cheating.

Random thoughts
- Will (can?) UTEP adjust to the defensive line stunts.
- Haven’t heard Stuckey’s name mentioned – and that’s been a good thing.
- Jake Sharp is wide open in the flat or over the middle every play.
- keep going to briscoe
- keep running the ball (yeah i know that contradicts my previous thought)
- will hatch see the field in the 2nd half?
I'm going to have to go to the beer store
if we’re going to get 1,200 out of this thread.

other score of interest,
20 – 14 Alabama over FIU. I know the SEC is all about D, but thats not impressive no matter how you slice it.
FIU is getting better every year.
They signed two 4-star recruits this year.
Soon enough, they are going to make some noise.

Allright, my thoughts are this...
Defense looks very good and while the d-line is getting a lot of credit, it’s the DB’s that are getting it done and making this work.
Drew Dudley and Arist Wright are doing a solid job filling the LB role this week.
Offensive line minus Spikes has done well.
Still curious why our receivers aren’t getting open as much as they should but that’s what happens against a 3-3-5 I guess

i was about to say wilson brought his hands tonight
Can we just run the entire time?
Although, that was a nice little pass play to Jonathan Wilson.
We could be really freaking dangerous if Jeremiah Hatch could just learn how to snap the fucking ball.
Well Wilson...
looks to have found his hands again this week and I have to say he’s really turned into a very solid blocker

How does a team that never goes under center
NOT have a center that can consistently snap the ball?

Okay, this game has been a whole quite positive. At least so far.

So, yeah, let's hope Kale Pick doesn't "fumble" this time around
and leads a TD drive.
It’d be a nice cherry on top to this pretty awesome game, as a whole.
What's with these OSU RBs?
Beanie Wells and now Boom Herron?

Awesome way to end the game.
No Touchdown, yeah, but that was still pretty fucking awesome.
I <3 Kale Pick and Toben Opurum.
The future’s bright, gentlemen.
So, yeah, all ofy ou are MVPs.
Also, one quick question before I go and set up the postgame thread.
Has anyone ever heard anybody call Buffalo Wild Wings B-Dubs?
Ever?
I had never heard that before, but I talked to like 8 people today about it. All of them called it B-Dubs at least once.
That's fucking stupid.

Yes!
Exactly.
Sick burn, btw. Sorry I hurt your feelings and you felt the need to do that.

All this talk of wings is making me hungry. I made some good salmon and rice earlier but now I’m hungry again. I’m gonna go make some guacaMOLe

Yeah, but you suck.
I have one option right now. Subway. No one else is open.
I’m hungry as absolute fuck. I like Subway as much as the next man, but still. I’m angry.
No TV, no fridge, no microwave in my room.
I really don’t know how I survive. I’ve gotta go buy that shit.

I hate pre-season rankings.
USC has no business being this high with that much talent gone.

Defense is still very good, though.
Even after losing all those guys in the Draft.

That said, I thought Ohio State was gonna win this all along.
I don’t get all the love for USC. They are on the road in Columbus. That right there should make tOSU the “favorite.”

Definitely.
I think I picked USC initially and forgot to change it to OSU when I actually gave it some thought. I’m going to be annoyed when Barkley throws a pick right here.

Interesting
Didn’t realize this during the game, but apparently we moved Laptad to defensive tackle. Might that be the magic potion that created such a pass rush?
by KennyGregoryRockThaCradle on Sep 12, 2009 10:11 PM CDT reply actions
That was mostly the 3rd down speed rush package, IIRC.
