OVERFLOW THREAD :: Game #2 :: Kansas @ UTEP

Not a terrible half. Todd Reesing had one of his worse halves in a Kansas uniform, but an incredible defensive half, particularly from the defensive line (what was that, 5 sacks? 6? WUT?!?) has us up 20. That's a lot, in case you were interested.

So, yeah, here is the place for all second-half comments to go. We are trying to get to 2,000 on the night, preferably not including the all-day OGT. That's like cheating. That means we need AT LEAST another 1,200 comments in this thread.

Let's get it, let's get it, let's get it. It needs to happen.

Also, go Ohio State. Old habits die hard. It'll suck tomorrow when there are a billion people yelling "O-H" and expecting people to yell back "I-O", but I can't possibly, ever root for USC. Just can't do it. Not the football team, at least.

Comment your heart out.

Random thoughts

- Will (can?) UTEP adjust to the defensive line stunts.
- Haven’t heard Stuckey’s name mentioned – and that’s been a good thing.
- Jake Sharp is wide open in the flat or over the middle every play.
- keep going to briscoe
- keep running the ball (yeah i know that contradicts my previous thought)
- will hatch see the field in the 2nd half?

Allright, my thoughts are this...

Defense looks very good and while the d-line is getting a lot of credit, it’s the DB’s that are getting it done and making this work.

Drew Dudley and Arist Wright are doing a solid job filling the LB role this week.

Offensive line minus Spikes has done well.

Still curious why our receivers aren’t getting open as much as they should but that’s what happens against a 3-3-5 I guess

That said, I thought Ohio State was gonna win this all along.

I don’t get all the love for USC. They are on the road in Columbus. That right there should make tOSU the “favorite.”

Definitely.

I think I picked USC initially and forgot to change it to OSU when I actually gave it some thought. I’m going to be annoyed when Barkley throws a pick right here.

I thought I saw RC

said there was a post game thread but I don’t see it.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably propaganda.

McKnight was CLUTCH right there.

breathing room and a better shot at a 3rd down conversion.

Interesting

Didn’t realize this during the game, but apparently we moved Laptad to defensive tackle. Might that be the magic potion that created such a pass rush?

That was mostly the 3rd down speed rush package, IIRC.

At least somebody did.

Although, we could’ve used your help in trying to get to 2,000.

McKnight

is a hell of a lot tougher a runner than I thought he would be. My goodness.

Agreed.

He’s Reggie Bush-like but manly, too.

That LAST lateral movement cost him the first.

If he just put his head down and went for it, he’d be golden.

Sorry, I got way distracted.

Please take all further conversation there!

After this play, of course. Next commercial break or whatever.
