Way too much RR for you!
I knew you’d show up.
You show up to, by far, the most OGT’s on this site.
There needs to be an award, or something, for that.
Hawks get the first hit.
Jarring to hear the sound of aluminum bats after watching the Royals game earlier.

I know.
It’s crazy. I was typing, and my head shot up in a second when I heard that.
It definitely gets your attention.
Hawks smallball in the first run.
Fundamentals way better than the Royals.

Great play by the left-fielder.
Unfortunately the bad guys score next batter.

Fantastically amazing play from Narodowski.
It sucks that they scored 2, but we did a good job just to limit them to that.
Let’s get the bats going, now.
Hey, I missed him.
He’s good luck though, as Thompson rips a double.

Tony Thompson is incredible.
If he has another year like this one, I wonder if he could be a Top draft pick next year.
He's got a quick bat
for such a big guy. Another year like this and I’d think he’d be a good prospect.

Scouts at Hoglund
Aman over heard one scout saying he came to watch Thompson even though Tony will not be draft eligible until after next season.

Clutch two-out hit by Faunce.
KU ties it up.

Granted it's only been 2.2 innings
but I’m not a huge fan of Ridenhour. He still has a lot of room to improve I guess but I’m not totally impressed.

The only other time I watched him pitch
was on the internets’ TV against Oklahoma. He was pulled after .2 of an inning, there.
He has a bunch of untapped talent, but he still definitely has to put it all together. Hopefully, he can remain as just the Sunday starter next year, or even slide back to a weekday starter if Marks comes back healthy and the Hall/Walz come back.
Seems to have good control,
but throws a very straight fastball. Interesting to see if he can make some adjustments as the game goes on.

Lee has be struggling ever since he was sick.
It was the flu or food poisoning or something like that. It apparently took his strength for a few weeks. He is not quite the same over the last five starts. Just the same, any freshman who starts weekends in the Big-12 and enjoys any sucsess at all is going to be very good. Walz is ahead of where T.J. Walz was as a freshman, and ahead of where Shaeffer Hall was as a sophomore. Hopefully things will continue to move forward in the right direction next year.

Hey.
Travis Metcalf is going to answer some Tweets!
Someone ask him about being a Royals’ minor leaguer.
Blast by Afenir puts KU up by 3.
Homers>bunting.

Go Hawks!
What the hell kind of game thread is this?
Nobody sucks and there aren’t any retarded gifs and stupid pictures all over the place.
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.
Let's alert RoyalsReview!
They can send a couple of clowns over quick.

that wasn't a request.
It’s nice to get a break from it.
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.
Yes,
the reappearance of GobbleforCyoung seems to have caused an outbreak of the a-hole virus in some of the gamethreads over there.

Mrs. JQ and I sat about 10 feet from the Mom and Pop Afenir last night.
They were plenty happy with how Buck is going out.

A-ha!
Series victory appears to be imminent, pending a complete blowup from Ridenhour/bullpen.
What’s funny is this clinches us playing K-State on Wednesday in the Big 12 Tournament. 4/5 matchup, baby (we’re the 5, but who really cares?).
Should be a fun one.
That might be bad news
If K-State throws Morris. Of course they could save him, hoping they could get past us without him.

It should be interesting to see how they play it.
Obviously, hopefully they assume they can beat us and just “save” Morris for the next game.
I have a bad feeling, though, that they’ll use their brains and pitch Morris against us. That way, he can pitch on Saturday if needed, or whatever.
Blown DP chance gives KU 3 extra runs.
Before that, I was impressed with the fielding of both teams. Of course, watching the Royals doesn’t lend itself to many chances to appreciate defense.(Coco Crisp excepted)

I hope you saved your ticket stub from the Greinke game.
It could be valuable when he goes 30-1 and that’s his only loss.

JQ prescient about shilling Thompson for MVP of the league.
He is a monster.

Thompson's tater
No one doubted for a minute. If the outfielders had video cameras with them they would have just started filming right after the crack. Really sweet minute to see.
The team was really pumped last night. They mobbed Tony and Buck after their shots. Before the game they huddle hopped in the dug out. There was a lot fo good mojo going on at the Hog last night. The Cats had their hands full.

On a musical note Warden,
Junior Brown is coming to KC next weekend, and he’s great in concert. He could be right up your alley. He’s an older guy, but an incredible guitarist.

Damn good play there by Price...
saved at least one run. Now let’s put a few more on the board and really put this out of reach.
I saw my boy Buck
tearin shit up.

Slam appearance.
We gotta keep in form for next year’s dual national championship runs. We’re gonna need our image man in good form.
by hunter s. royal on May 17, 2009 8:41 PM CDT reply actions
Yes.
Slam will be missed during FBall season, but as long as he’s coming back for hoops, we’re good.
Just make sure and stop by after we whoop your ass in Boulder, OK?
(smiley face)
I'll drop in
and celebrate the Buffs upset. Hope your run defense is good <3

no worries...
Todd Reesing owns the Buffs and I don’t expect this year to be any different…besides by the time we play CU that whole 10 wins and no excuses thing will be shattered and Hawkins and everyone else will be dealing with the media pressure that will ensue :D
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
Only one way to find out ;D

I'll be there...
make the trip to Boulder anytime KU plays there football/basketball…love it, especially recent years.

I''ll be living in Denver then
so I might have to make the trip to Boulder myself. I’ve never seen a game at Folsom before.

go for sure...
it’s a great place to watch a game…I will say that at times lately the CU fans have left a little to be desired but if they can get that ship moving in the right direction the fans can make that stadium a great and very difficult place to stay.

Fantastic DP by Narodowski & Price.
Don’t the kitties any reason to hope.

Excellent.
Jayhawks send the kittycats down in mercy rule inflicted flames. Labbadabba missed his ultimate game.
by hunter s. royal on May 17, 2009 9:34 PM CDT reply actions
Yay!
Jayhawks win, 17-7, in a mercy rule.
Gotta love those ten run mercy rules, showing domination and all of that stuff.
I just hope we can topple A.J. Morris on Wednesday morning.
Another record crowd showed up.
The two games drew over 5,000.
It’s all good.
