CONVERSION STORY IN MY OWN WORDS
Being a KSU grad, I want to confess that I converted to being a Jayhawk fan a few years ago. I have always admired and looked up to KU as the superior school overall even when I used to be anti KU (I feel bad about that now).
If we were to have kids, which we can't due to health reasons, I would do anything possible to convince them to be Jayhawks. That is the test that put me over the hump in converting. In looking back I wish I had decided to attend THE University of Kansas instead of KSU. After saying that, I did have a great time at KSU and it is a good school. It is just not at the level of KU. I know KU would have been better academically for me and I would have had more positive memories there. It goes without saying that KU is better overall in sports as well. Even when KSU had that brief run of success against KU in football, I knew it was temporary. The overall record illustrates that, 65-36.
I know KSU fans think of KU fans as being arrogant which if that is the case is not a bad thing. KU fans are proud of their school which they have a right to be. I honestly can say I love hanging out with KU fans. They are passionate and very spirited which are great traits to have. For the most part, I find KU fans and student athletes to have class and integrity which are very important to me.I am so grateful to be a Jayhawk and do belong to the KU Alumni Association as a Friend of The University of Kansas. I really wish I could say I am a graduate of THE University of Kansas but I can at least maybe convince other kids to attend KU through the help of my testimony.I don't own anything purple anymore and I wear KU gear all the time now (I have to make up for lost time) :) . This is not because I am anti KSU but because of how special KU is to me. I can't divide up my attention or loyalties. It is one or the other and with me it is all KU now and always will be. I was never one of those fans that liked KU in b-ball and KSU in football when KSU was having some success. I don't understand those type of fans.
I don't like drawing attention to myself but to the greatness of KU and the impact it can have on at least one KSU grad that has opened his eyes and seen the light. :) I should give credit to my wife as well who is a KU grad. She might have helped in knocking some sense into me. I feel real bad about being anti KU when I didn't know better and I don't want other kids to make the same mistake I did. That is why I like going public with my testimony.I want to apologize to KSU fans for converting, but in my mind and heart there is nothing better then the KU Jayhawks when it comes to a team and school to root for. I have nothing negative to say about KSU. I really don't. I just want to be a Jayhawk and most all of the KU fans have welcomed me into the Jayhawk family which I am extremely grateful for.Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU is music to my ears now.

Good to have ya!
Though there are some academic instances where KSU has a leg up on us….
I cheer for KSU when and where appropriate. I view KSU as a kid brother. You always want to see them do well, you just want to tell them about it.
I've got crazy flipper fingers!
Thanks!
I agree with you in that ksu is like a little sibling to KU.

I'm never opposed to people seeing the light...
but this article kind of makes me feel sorry for you and KSU :D
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
FYI
It is kind of sad isn’t it. :)

Ha! Those Lawrence ladies will get you every time. Glad to have you, especially if you really do contribute to the alumni association (which even I haven’t done for a while, and definitely need to).
Really glad you were never one of those KSU football/KU basketball “fans.” Ugh. Scum of the Earth. PICK A SIDE!
