Sorry for the delay, but this is your OGT for all the happenings today. Illinois State and Bill Self protege Tim Jankovich seek to make the NCAA Tournament with a win at 1 PM (CST) against Northern Iowa.

I probably screwed this whole thing up
by showing up so late, but whatever.
I completely and entirely forgot it was Spring Forward, and so I woke up, well, an hour later than I was supposed to.
In semi-important news,
Army (4 seed) is winning at American (1 seed) in the Patriot League semis.
Up 2 with 3:24 left. Not only is it an upset, but Army has never-ever-ever made the NCAA Tournament. One of only, like, five (Northwestern, The Citadel, and a couple others I can’t think of) teams who have been a part of NCAAB since 1947-8 and never made the Big Dance.
Hopefully, this will be the year.
Don't worry, Xavier is in the Central time zone so:
Next year you’ll have no excuse.
xavier is in the EST time zone. heh. cinnci = eastern.

Thanks for the correction.
That’s even better. Rockchalk will have to get up an hour earlier than us next year. No more SoCal loafing around in bed.

Purdue - Mich. State is FINALLY over, so we can now move on to some MVC finals.
In other news, Albany is up 11 on UMBC early in the America East semis. That is awesome. As esteban said, as many Kansas opponents as possible should be Dancing!
Also, American surged back, hitting a free throw with 3.6 seconds left to take the lead, 61-60. American wins.
Does Illinois State need to win this game to get in?
Or can they get an at-large?
No, they have to win.
They might have had a shot, but they lost a couple of bad Valley games (including getting swept by Indiana State…yikes), so no.
Win and they go to the Dance, lose and they make the NIT.
Big thing, we’re dealing with.
Jankovich's Redbirds
down 6 halfway through the first half.
They need to catch fire from three, again, like they did yesterday against Creighton.
Illinois State may have burned out beating Creighton yesterday.
They look sloppy & a step slow.
I think they do.
As long as they beat Cincinnati on Thursday in the Big East Tournament.
They are definitely an interesting case, though.
its really amazing how we always get a 3 right before half...

I'll get my 15 year old daughter on it then.
She’s got a lot more brain cells than I have left.

HWC 205?
That assignment looks pretty familar to me.
www.rockchalktalk.com for pretty good KU baseball coverage
Can't you steal that stuff off the internet?
Then hope your professor isn’t using plagiarism checking software.
kinda not really. The question is all opinion in the end, which sucks cause i have no opinion on this.

Semi-OT, but did anyone catch the Purdue-MSU game?
The broadcasting crew was Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery. That’s incredible. If they are matched together for the NCAA Tournament, I just might watch those games no matter what else is going on, and no matter the lead.
That’s like the greatest pairing in the history of broadcasting.
They are both good.
Gus Johnson has a great voice, and raftery is just hilarious.. I like Clark Kellog Alot, but i think the best group is ESPN’s Bilas, Raftery, and Mcdunnah(spelling?)
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
Agreed.
Kellogg is awesome, but the Big Monday Big East crew of Bilas, Raftery and McDunnogh (sp?) is the best crew out there.
ya, CK is doing the national championship this year its gunna be sweet.
I’m spoiled a little, CK is the Pacers announcer which is just awsome
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
...and i watch every pacers game.. i forgot to mention that.. if you didn't understand haha
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
Bits & pieces.
Johnson is good, and while Raftery has as many goofy verbal phrases as Vitale, he’s not annoying. I definitely like them both.

Anyone else see the big 12 gettin 6 teams in this year..
Us, OU, MU, Texas, A&M, and OK St.? i think it happens
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
Me too.
A&M and OK State probably can’t afford to lose in the first round against Iowa State and Tech, but win that and both should be in.
Likely. A&M & Okie State both playing well enough to probably get the nod.
Texas seems fine, unless they let K-State blow them out. Things broke right for the conference. It looked like only 4 teams a few weeks ago.

Nice move.
He deftly avoided trampling the cheerleaders.
I have no clue,
but it’s an awfully ugly court with the logos and lines.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
I was wondering that too.. they are in st. louis
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
Because Osiris has to shoot behind THAT line.
To get 3 points.
Just to even the playing field, y’know?
Oh. My. Goodness.
Those last three treys by Osiris just aren’t fair.
They are all absolutely unguardable .
First, a thirty-footer. Then, a fadeaway off the wing. Then, a dribble-fadeaway from the left corner.
Just absolutely ridiculous. Unfair.
Talk about showing up for March and making yourself known.
OT- but just watched Monday's 2 hour "24"
and wow. That show has always been a little over the top, but that episode takes the cake.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Why? Did Jack Bauer manage to balance the national budget?

as well as solve all the issues peacefully in the middle east.
he is quite a man
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
I give up.
I don’t think you should be able to make that. A 28-footer beyond the reach of a 6’8" guy’s outstretched arms?
And yet, they are still only tied.
They better.
The NC markets, fine, I understand.
But way out here in CA, please let me watch Northern Iowa-Illinois State.
I don’t give a flip about Duke-UNC…
Final shot strategy:
Is there any question?
Give it to Osiris, and let him do his thing. If they double-or-triple team, then have three-point shooters (Holloway and Oguchi, I’d imagine) on the wing ready to kick out.
Well, that was a terrible idea, Osiris.
At least attempt to drive.
He’s got a little bit of Sherron in him, there.
In other news, Albany down 3 to UMBC. A minute left.
Wow.
Back-and-forth.
This is one of the best games you’ll see. Two good teams, but teams that need to win to Dance.
Intensity, passion, all of that fun stuff.
Some incredible plays being made.
It isn’t Ohio Valley Championship Game-status yet (last night; went to 2 OT…absolutely craziness), but it’s pretty doggone close.
saw that, it was insane.
that game tying shot to go to the first OT was awsome
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
yah that game was played at a very high level i was impressed.
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
I saw that and missed the rest.
Pissed me off when I saw the final this morning.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
final shot was a corner fade away jumper with like 2 sec left
From a freshman who had not hit a shot all night
"I can resist everything but temptation." - oscar wylde
It was crazy.
Morehead had like 5 players in double figures, then they hit the game winner by a player who had 0 points.
Crap.
That turned around way too fast.
Oguchi just needed to hit the layup, and Jankovich looked to be solid.
He’s gotta miss one of these free throws.
The key play was Oguchi's missed layup.
They hit that, and they are up 3 and can go and play D.
BUt he misses that, and then Northern Iowa picks up the ball and speeds downcourt for the fastbreak bucket.
Absolute killer. Just, killer.
Actually a pretty solid look.
A good play to get Osiris a look he likes, a fadeaway…heh.
Just a tad bit short, though…
Oh, well. Hopefully Jank and the Redbirds can go Dancing next year.
That was far better than I thought it would be.
The Netherlands beating the Dominicans was wild, then the U.S.-Canada was a great game.

Oh well. They probably would have matched Illinois State against KU:
In the first round anyway, just to be cute.
WCC tournament going on right now
