REMATCH- Why this time we'll prevail
Here is the box score from the first time we played Michigan State. Why will this time be different? A few things that jump out at me:
-Travis Releford... 21 minutes. Could be good some day, but isn't ready to compete at this level yet.
-Marcus Morris... 8 minutes. Has developed into a key contributor and the clear leader of the Law Firm.
-11 missed free throws... struggled with them against Dayton, but hopefully we can get that on track
-14 turnovers...won't happen again. Team has improved too much.
-5/20 from 3pt range...will be key once again this time around
-Not a stat, but a comment from HCBS that's interesting: "He's gone from being maybe one of the best freshmen in our league to not being effective lately. Maybe he's hit the wall" describing the play of Tyshawn Taylor.

When was Coach Self's comment
about T2? Recent?
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.
I think he's talking about
comments after that game from Self.

Kind of sad that I couldn't tell if that was after
Sunday’s game.
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.
Great stats there Kenny
I like our chances to win the rematch

You can almost tell the story just by looking at the numbers
Sherron was 8-24 from the field with 8 turnovers. He was 2 of 8 from 3. Clearly evidence is the team being rattled and Sherron trying to shoulder the load.

Very telling stuff....
If Sherron and Cole play in the realm of the first two rounds it will be a different game…granted we lost by a fair amount in the first matchup so I’m not saying it’s a win but I think we’re in this one.

The Rematch
Well I hope the team excluding Aldrich and Collins are a little less nervous going into this upcoming game. Our players have seen this team before, we have tape on what went wrong and a little bit of what went right. I just don’t like how the rest of our team has been shut down offensively in the last couple games. If Collins or Aldrich have a bad night who would step up?!? Based on the first two rounds no one would. Lets hope T2 and McMorris can find some game this week.
so who's the picture Luke....
I can see that’s an old KU letter jacket but who is it??

KU football star "Jarring" Jim Bausch.
Not quite sure about this
the article is copyrighted 2007 so part of the quote is true…
"The potential for a truly bitter rivalry has been mitigated somewhat by the fact that neither football team has developed into a national powerhouse. Indeed, the KU-MU rivalry has everything associated with the great collegiate football rivalries except for one thing: maniacal, unbridled passion.
Since 1973, there have been no gridiron contests with both the Tigers and Jayhawks ranked in the Top-25. "
A great read otherwise, thanks! Interesting that he’s also in the National Track and Field HOF as well as a charter member of the Collegiate Football HOF. He’s enshrined at KU for being a track star but not football even tho he was a 2-time All-American in football. Weird.

One more note...
Recruitng was immoral during this era… Mizery offered Jim money to play for them. When he decided to play for Kansas thats when MU accussed KU of recruiting. They managed to get all of the other schools in the conference with exception of KState to force KU out of the conference unless they removed Jim from the team. Thus Mizery is just a bunch of cheats and sore losers and that was in the 1930s… they have only gotten worse.

"I log on to RCT after school, and I see the 228 comments on this thread. I actually immediately panicked, because knowing KC, I figured some other fan from another school (most likely Mizzou) came over and said something stupid. Then, KC freaked out at him, and said something stupid (no offense, KC, but this really wouldn’t be that extraordinary for you to pull off) and then there was mass hysteria. I would have to ban people, and warn people, and it’d be mass chaos." - SlowDance

yeah
I heard Self say this morning that our other 3 starters combined for 2 points, that is pretty terrible

This is true.
Mario was really the only other person that scored anything. We only had 60 points…

No clue but I would think so...
since we were undefeated at home…I guess the only risk would be if he was at either Syracuse or Umass

Excellent.
Victory should now be assured! Just don’t get caught smuggling any Black Label Jack into the arena.

awesome for you man....
I always thought one of the coolest things about being a Jayhawk fan is attending road/tourney games or bowl games…it gives you a real senses of the Jayhawk community and how far that extends.
