OK, I'm here now.
Glad Duke is up. I really want a 3-seed, and will do anything it takes to keep it up there. Even rooting for Duke.
I’m torn on rooting for Mississippi State or Tennessee. I suppose I’ll root for the Bulldogs but I kind of want the Vols to win just so my bracket can more accurately be compared.
And, finally, go STEPHEN F. AUSTIN!
it does sound good.
But they looked awful that game. Tennessee wins and the SEC is getting 2 teams in, that’s pathetic.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Secrets of Shootings for
only 24.95. The only thing they were missing is Fred McGriff to endorse it.

I just got back from your mom's basement.
holy shit, when duke shoots like this they're unbelievably good
i mean they already do everything else right. other than a true post player they’re a really well-rounded team
when they shoot this well.
I still think a team like Missouri would give them hell.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
it would be fun to see how long coach k's paulus-love would last against that press
i bet he’d be stubborn and still give him 28 minutes
Paulus actually rides a ton of pine this year.
Kryzewiskewioajeo gave up on him early in the ACC season.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
i thought the only thing in his way was the recent emergence of that freshman?
i’ve only seen 3 duke games this year though and they were all recent, so my sample size is limited
Just looked,
17 mpg this season.
Last season was 27
32 a game his freshman and sophomore seasons.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Check out his page on statsheet.
Here
Pretty funny graphs comparing this year and last year for his minutes and points.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Yeah.
But there is no way a team can shoot that well for six straight games.
Last year, freakin’ Belmont nearly beat them, and should have, because Duke had an off shooting day.
Just imagine what Louisville got their hands on them when they couldn’t hit a shot.
hahah louisville is another team that would bury duke
i dunno why i like them so much this year, they just seem like a team that never beats themselves, which is unfortunately more than i can say for one other top-flight team
He is.
Super nice kid, though.

OK, I only briefly scanned it, but
what the hell was that convo you two had?
About cheerleaders and scary houses and Commando and Arnold Schwarzaneggar (sp?, he’s only my governor)?
I didn’t understnad it.
Yeah
basketball hadn’t started yet, and I saw on E! there was a show called, “Hot Girls in Scary Places”, where these 3 USC cheerleaders went through this “haunted” hospital, I thought it was kind of funny….then Commando with the Guvna was on which is a classic Arnold flick (it was on AMC surprisingly)….Me and Warden were enjoying the greatness of it all, though, if you haven’t seen it I suggest you check it out, hillarious
by I need more Esteban on Mar 15, 2009 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions
Lets see,
E! had a show where they put USC song girls in a haunted house overnight.
And Commando was on.
I think that sums it up.

Oh, Slam.
I don’t know if you saw it, but on Lunardi’s latest bracketology…um, it ain’t gonna be good for you.
He has Kansas vs. Stephen F. Austin.
(gulp).
Yeah
They had the same matchup predicted last year until SFA screwed it all up.

UTSA
is the school that just hired Coker for their football team, right?

NW Missouri's coach

i wish college would move their 3-point line back again
not only would it space the floor better but it’s also embarrassing to see some of these guys hoist up shot after shot from a range they’re obviously brutal from
I wouldn't mind that.
I think the move last year was more window dressing than anything.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
i guess my opinion is a little biased because i think it would help Sherron's game immensely
but another reason stems from watching this tennessee game and how all their players seem to think they’re ray allen out there

hahah see, right there wayne chism, their PF, was this close to jackin up an NBA-range 3 with 28 seconds left on the shotclock
I think you're right about this year.
They’re going to shoot them whether they’re good at it or not.

SFA beginning to clinch a bid.
Whoa, this is there first ever? Sweet.
Good for the Lumberjacks.
Last good game left is the SEC…on to CBS.
First ever!!
I’m so excited. Man I’d kill to be in Nacogdoches tonight. It’s a small enough town that all anyone ever does there is find an excuse to party. The towers are gonna be lit up, too. They always light the towers for a big win.

1st season was obviously the best, this one is pretty good though.

I dunno.
First season WAS great, but this past season was amazing. It’s unbelievable how great the last 5 episodes are. Starting from New York, New York, they were just spot on every single week.

Good to know.
I can’t wait to watch this season.
Think I will re-watch the first two seasons first, to get into complete FNL mode.
It’s as good as it gets, without doubt. My favorite drama, ever.
Eli Stone is another awesome one, too, though.
They cancelled it, I think.
Hasn’t been on in forever.
It was awesome, though.
Not quite as good as FNL, but definitely up there.
One of the best shows ever.
I watched the first two seasons on DVD, and it took me 10 days to get through all of them.
Ridiculously addictive.
Haven’t started the third season, yet. Wait until the year is over and watch them all boom-boom-boom. Just like 24, Lost, etc.
Also, it's the absolute
best book I’ve ever read, ever. Ever.
Buzz Bissinger is a total and utter ass, but that book is freaking incredible.
I agree rockchalk

you guys get hbo?
eastbound and down is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows… sucks the “season” if only 6 episodes though
I do.
But rarely watch HBO.
Good to know.
Is it comedy or drama or mix? I’ll definitely watch it, though.
hahah it's a comedy featuring the dude from pineapple express (the one with the neck brace)
he plays a washed-up major league fireballer tryin to make it back to the big leagues, but in the meantime coaching a high school gym class and living with his brother, wife n kids in his hometown
so vulgar and so awesome
Vulgar isn't a problem with me
most of the time. But that show exists to just be vulgar. There are better shows for my time.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
it definitely seems to ba a polarizing show
i was cruisin the other day and i switched one of the chi-town sports radio stations and this guy was going on like a 20-minute tangent about how bad the show is
and then on the other hand i have no fewer than 5 friends who swear it’s the best show hbo’s had in years, and i agree
Best show in years?
Is that skipping Generation Kill?
Now, THAT was an awesome show.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
haven't seen it yet
i used to be in deep with rescue me, dexter, weeds and the wire and for a good year i just stopped watching all of them… i’ve got way too many DVD’s i need to be renting to get retroactivley balls-deep in another HBO show
just finished season 2 of the wire in like a week
it was daaamn good too, I probably can’t wait another month for season 3 to come on demand so will have to give in and go watch them….I just can’t believe I just discovered the show

Probably St. Mary's.
I’m sticking with Arizona. At this point, I don’t actually think they get in, but they deserve to, so I’ll stick with them.
Same with San Diego State. So, bummer Gaels, but I think they get kicked out.
That's what they said
this morning on ESPN. I tend to agree. They just aren’t the same without Mills, and he isn’t himself right now. They are taking up space. And by the way, AMAZING work on the projection thing you did last night. INCREDIBLY done.

And yeah, St. Mary’s with Patty Mills is one of the better teams in the country, but they aren’t NCAA-worthy without a completely healthy Mills.

Love this.
9 seconds left and down by 1, Tennessee ball. I wish it was Miss St’s ball, make a shot and keep playing.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Holy hell.
That was a good call, too, I think.
No one ever enforces it, but IIRC there is a rule that says you can’t call a timeout after 4 seconds. The ref had clearly gotten to 4, and then Tennessee called timeout.
Good call.
WTF!
Is that ball on fire?! Neither one of them want to hold onto it for more than .3 seconds!

I actually immediately panicked, because knowing KC, I figured some other fan from another school (most likely Mizzou) came over and said something stupid. Then, KC freaked out at him, and said something stupid (no offense, KC, but this really wouldn’t be that extraordinary for you to pull off) and then there was mass hysteria. Agreed. I was kind of craving it today.
And it tasted good, but it wreaks havoc on me for about 8 hours afterward.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
More pictures from my childhood!

Sidenote,
watched a high school freshman from Wichita that was very, very good.
Perry Ellis.

He is a STUD!!!
How did he look in person? Tell me what you thought of him.

For a freshman playing in the 6A state championship game,
he dominated the boards. I think he had 9 points and 20 rebounds. The other team was all over him whenever he touched the ball, so I didn’t get to see a lot of his offense.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Help me out here
I hear about these divisions in other states, 6A, 5A etc. Which way does it go?? Is 1A highest, like it should be, and is 6A lower? If it is, how is there a kid getting D-1 offers in 6A?
Insanity is just a state of mind.
Yeah, there is already talk.
Wichita State is going after him hard, but I bet he’s ours if we play it right.
It’s awfully tough to say no to NCOYFHOFNCHCBS.
He's a 'Hawk.
His mom came to the MU game in Lawrence, by herself, even though he was too tired to go. I think she’s gonna marry NCOYFHOFNCHCBAMFBS :D

He's behind the bench at KU a lot.
I’m sure Self & Manning will be after him seriously.

I knew he'd been around KU,
I was on the lookout for Coach Self but never spotted him last night.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Western Kentucky's
assistant coach was there last night. I wonder who he was watching, doubt they’d be in on Ellis.

Does anybody else
think that the committee just take Joe Lunardi’s projections, just uses that, say, “Fuck it, let’s just sit in this room and get hammered all day,” proceeds to do body shots from one another, eats crab cakes afternoon, then just throws out Lunardi’s bracket at 5:00 CDT on CBS, therefore making Lunardi right, every year for the rest of his life?

Screw you.
Way to tarnish the greatest event in sports every year.
Just the mere thought ruins my life.
I’m so mad at you right now, I could scream.
Yikes,
rough day?
I said that’s what I would do, which is why they won’t ask me to be on the committee.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
It was all sarcasm.
I just don’t like the thoughts of behind-the-books dealings when it comes to Selection Sunday and the NCAA Tournament bracket.
It’s my favorite.
We’re all good, though.
Yeah, so if you're interested.
With the Mississippi State result, just slot them in as the 12-seed in place of St. Mary’s. The bracket works out fine, Thank God, even with the added SEC team.
That’s my official projection. Just go Boilers, I don’t want you to screw it up by losing.
Will they be a 12 seed?
What was Georgia last year, I can’t remember.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
They were a 14-seed.
But, the difference was they were ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
Mississippi State was a fringe bubble team, and had a couple of solid W’s. They are a 12-seed, trust me.
Between this thread
and the bracket projection thread, we’ve already stomped yesterday’s numbers. What happened yesterday with the OGT? Everybody just busy or no games worth discussing?
I just got back from your mom's basement.
A combination of both, methinks.
I was officially wiped out, and spent the last couple of hours on my Bracket Projection.
And really, no one else was here for most of it.
Just one of those things, y’know?
Today, we should be rocking. In another hour-15, we’ll slide on over to the Official Selection Sunday OGT.
That will be the fun one.
Sounds good.
Then, I can start work on the gigantic wins breakdown graph.

It's one of many
resources I have cooked up. It’s like the free preview.

you can have it all. I won’t reveal all of the winning secrets.

I'm watching TReleford's little brother
from the 5A state championship game yesterday.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
oh they're playing Topeka's finest
Highland Park….we had some battles with them in different tournaments in my couple years of varsity ball

damn
Releford Jr. is fast with the basketball
by I need more Esteban on Mar 15, 2009 3:47 PM CDT up reply actions
it's a local Kansas City station so I doubt you
could get it….Playing for the same highschool as his brother, I’m not really sure what year he is, he looks like more of a PG then Travis, though, as he’s not as tall, he’s real quick though

So is John Wall.
Just sayin’.

wait what?
John Wall, where’d that come from? He definitely does not play for Topeka Highland Park
by I need more Esteban on Mar 15, 2009 3:52 PM CDT up reply actions
You said Releford Jr
is fast with the basketball. John Wall is, too. Every piece of film on him I’ve seen, that’s what catches me. The dude is LIGHTNING with the ball. Sorry, it’s just everytime someone mentions being fast with the ball, I’m reminded of John Wall.
I am Jack's unbridled optimism.

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
seein if you could jump on FB and we can iron out these regional previews.
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
Not sure if anyone's around, but..
Why is Oklahoma getting seeded above us? What have they accomplished this season that KU hasn’t? Do they have as good a win as over Washington? I don’t think they do. And this ignores the fact that WE WENT INTO THEIR ARENA AND BEAT THEM. Sure, Griffin was out. But you can’t just pretend that would’ve been an OU win if he had been in the lineup!
Someone give me some logic here please.

by KennyGregoryRockThaCradle on Mar 15, 2009 3:54 PM CDT up reply actions
I agree entirely.
I was going to do something comparing our resume to theirs, just never got around to it.
It’s stupid, I think.
Basically, they are just getting a free pass for the two losses without Griffin. And, apparently their loss up in Mizzou Arena never happened.
It doesn’t make sense to me. And who knows, maybe the Committee will see that too and bump someone else up to the 2-seed line. We don’t deserve it, but other teams deserve it over Boomer Sooner. Like Villanova, Syracuse or hell, even Missouri.
So rockchalk
are you keeping this thread all day or is there a seperate Selection Show one?
