Answer: YES!!
I know somebody who knows somebody who knows one of the guys that helped make it. Printed it out on individual copy paper (like 175 sheets or something sick like that) and pieced it all together. THE COOLEST SIGN EVER.

I think we're all good, as long as labba is fine with it.
I plastered it up on the front page, because it’s just that awesome.
YES!!!!
kudos for labba for throwing it up first but I have to say this needed to be front paged without a doubt…

I had trouble linking the picture itself so I had to link the page. No offense taken here…

Someone needs to help me out. What is this of exactly? I can see “God” holding our national title, and looking legit, but what else is there to it?
it's actually John Brown...
John Brown was an abolitionist and one that it could be said has possibly the earliest ties to the Kansas vs. Missouri rivalry. Truthfully probably not the most deserving person to be holding up a giant poster of but over the years Brown has become synonymous with Kansas as Quantrill has Missouri. Both men were very passionate on their side of an extremely heated issue that nearly divided the country. Can’t say either’s actions are admirable but it is what it is and I personally just enjoy a good John Brown Ale from Free State Brewery more than anything.

Yes, he and his band
of Redleggers were a bit of a rough bunch…
Interesting factoid:
A large mural in the east wing, painted by Kansan John Steuart Curry, centers on an image of abolitionist John Brown. This is believed to be the only instance of a person convicted of treason being featured in a state capitol.

the image is also found in
the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Probably the most famous piece of art featuring a Kansan.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Time to git you edjumacated
Its John Brown)
The caption of the pic states:
The Jayhawk student section displays an enlarged and modified version of artist John Steuart Curry’s famous “Tragic Prelude” painting, which features abolitionist John Brown holding a rifle, and in this case the 2008 National Championship trophy.
The painting resides in the midst of a massive mural in the Kansas State Capital building. Its really an amazing building if you’ve never been. One of the few really neato things in Topeka…

Ah. I’m not really up to date on my Kansas history. I can tell you everything you need to know about Texas history though, as that is a required class growing up. I can tell you how many men fought, how many died, what color the flags were. I can tell you when the Mexicans advanced.
Since coming to KU, I’ve learned a little about Quantrell, but not a lot. Everyone seems to hate the guy, and I see no point in arguing that. I just took it and ran, never really getting in depth answers as to why.
well,
when a guy leads a raid burning down your town, there is going to be some hate.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
According to Wiki
there’s a large portrait of Quantrell hanging in the Douglas County Courthouse. Thought that was interesting…

Plus, murdering around 150 Kansas citizens.
