That story, coupled with
this seems to indicate an announcement may be forthcoming rather quickly.
Or I could be totally reading into these things. Who knows?
Operation 40-0 is a go. Proceed to target.
I think we're probably looking at something by the end of the week...
Lew interviewed Gill, might be comfortable with him and feel he’s a good hire. Wants to do his due diligence and see what else is out there. Probably not going to leave Gill hanging out to dry to long though. Either he finds someone he likes better soon or Gill could be our guy.
I’m still not sure how much to buy into all the Harbaugh hype but one thought on that one is perhaps Harbaugh is going to dance around this or any other job all week because he doesn’t want to be the story when one of his players is in NY for the Heisman. Again, I’m not sure what to think on Harbaugh and I’m starting to think he might not be a legit candidate but it’s a thought.

I think I'd be happy with Gill.
He has Big XII ties, has players that want to play for him and did turn around another college football program. Give him the right assistants and boom…
I don't know, I like to think that things started out initially with good intentions, but then we just loused it up. Kind of like intelligence. We have this glorious thing that allowed us to survive for millenia and now we use it to write porn film plots involving pterodactyls. Talk about wasting the gift.
Gill
is the guy I had pegged for the KU job from the beginning so I hope he gets it so I proclaim genius or something.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
I was a Gill doubter
I still am. I think he’s a risk.
But the more I learn about him, the more I like him as a person (despite being a bugeater and playing for teams that routinely ran up the score on the Jayhawks).
He’s moved way up my list. If we choose him, I won’t hate it.
Who's next?
I would have loved him at CU
but I could probably say that about everyone not named “Dan Hawkins”.

I love Dan Hawikins
He’s #2 on my list of “Most entertaining coaches to listen to in the Big 12” – but well behind the #1 man, Mike “The Pirate” Leach.
Who's next?
agree...
I’ve warmed up to a lot of these guys after doing a few of these write ups. We’re definitely in a position to land either a more proven commodity or a hotter name than we were when we went with Mangino.

I thought Mangino was a pretty hot name at the time?

I’d say he was a relatively hot name, but not a head coach. He was a “hot” name who was a coordinator. All of the people we are looking at this go around are pretty much head guys.

Oh, right.
I’m dumb.

I can talk myself into Turner Gill
