Bobby Knight Slams Calipari, Says He Lacks Integrity
Not that I've always been the biggest fan of Bobby, but he knows the game and isn't afraid to call people out for their shenanigans.

he's 100% correct
I just love reading all the UcK fans falling all over themselves trying to stick up for Cal.
Turner Gill is introduced to the Kansas Athletic dept:
Gill, I'm Bill and this is Phil. Gill, I'm Phil and this is Jill. Gil, I'm Jill, you know Bill, Phil...
Now ESPN just needs to send Knight
to be the color guy on the next UK game they televise in Lexington. That would be entertaining to say the least.

He is right
Cal is a greasy slimeball. Imagine if Memphis had beaten us and a national title would have been forfeited. Insane.
Now either that is one seriously black kettle,
or, well you know how it goes…. seems like pot and kettle would actually hit it off if they were talking over some brewskis.

For what it's worth
Cal really took the high road when asked about the Knight comments, which was the right move. I can’t stand Cal any more than the next guy, but he seems to have handled this little controversy pretty well so far.
Knight was dead-on, though, in his comments.

Cal may be a little dirty, but he's not dumb.
He’s well aware that picking a fight with Bobby Knight is something that won’t go away. Or, he could be scared of him after tangling with a different crusty old coach.
I used to work with an old man that told me- Son, every workplace has a dumbass. If you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.
Maybe Bruce Pearl
will invite someone to be a special bench coach for their games against UK? :)
As over the top as Chaney was, I think Calipari is still tainted by that bizarre scene. That someone would openly despise him that much seemed to put a crack in Cal’s normally unflappable slickness.

Probably very true.
Would Chaney have gone after a guy like Knight, Coach K, Calhoun, or Roy in that situation? My money is a big no, he didn’t respect Calipari at all.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
Did I ever tell you guys my Calipari story?
My dad’s boss is connected to the Pitt program- he played college ball there, and has a son that played college ball, so he’s fairly well connected to the college hoops world.
Anyways, when Howland left Pitt for UCLA, they asked my dad’s boss to help with the search. His job was to reach out to Calipari in a non-official way to get a “feeler” on whether he would be interested in the job. Apparently any time someone does this, Calipari ALWAYS says he’s interested. Anyways, so he gets ahold of Calipari after some phone tag, and the very first question out of John’s mouth is this:
“Can I have at least one player that doesn’t academically qualify every year?”
Pitt decided this wasn’t the direction they wanted to go.
"Here are our top priorities: recruit, beat Missouri, recruit, win the North, recruit, win the Big 12, and in most cases if you win the Big 12 then you're playing for a National Championship. And then we're going to recruit."

That says a lot
Of course, it makes me wonder if requests like that are common among coaches in the top level…

they must be
even my D-III soccer coach would complain that he couldn’t get guys past the admissions board all the time (no offense taken by us current players at the time)
