Seems there is some envy of our situation and coaching change among the Buff fans.

Turner Gill is introduced to the Kansas Athletic dept:

Gill, I'm Bill and this is Phil. Gill, I'm Phil and this is Jill. Gil, I'm Jill, you know Bill, Phil...

Hmmm

All of those positional switches remind me of Patterson at TCU. Hopefully he can work some of that magic with our guys.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

How depressing must it be...

to have a coach ruining things as bad as Hawkins, and not be able to get rid of him because you can’t afford the measly $3mm buyout?!?

Seriously, they have so little interest in having a good football team that they can’t piece together that amount of money to get rid of a coach that’s completely ruining their program. Sad, indeed.

CU has

some problems, which they created themselves, I am so glad that Gill didn’t end up there. Colorado hasn’t helped Hawkins in the least with the facilities and I doubt they would have for Gill either. KU has invested in the programs future and I think Gill will be a good leader for the program. Plus, Gill very conservative and I don’t know if he would have fit in well at CU.

IMO...

Part of it is just the culture of Colorado. “If the football team sucks, fine, let’s go mountain biking in the dunes, or whitewater rafting, or do some climbing in the Flat Irons. And by November, some of the slopes will be opening up!”

Why put your time and money towards trying to fix a program with a downright ugly history when there’s so many other ways you can spend your entertainment dollar? And with so many other things that appeal to potential students from all over the country, there isn’t the pressure on the administration to go out and invest in a great athletics department, because kids that are into outdoor activities will always be chomping at the bit to be in a place like Boulder.

"Here are our top priorities: recruit, beat Missouri, recruit, win the North, recruit, win the Big 12, and in most cases if you win the Big 12 then you're playing for a National Championship. And then we're going to recruit."
