The upward trend of the defense and downward spiral on special teams and offense continues for the Jayhawks.

Anything scare anyone else about the picture above?  A very balanced although not explosive offense, a solid defense, and very good special teams.  Nope that's not the Jayhawks it's what Kansas State has going for them right now.

Now we can hope the Wildcats return to the form they showed against the Red Raiders of Tech and the Jayhawks go pass happy, but with our current state of affairs on offense I'm struggling to convince myself that it will happen.  Kansas better figure out a way to reestablish the run and find the Todd Reesing of old.

Defensively, contain the Wildcats running attack and that includes a mobile quarterback.  Make him throw, he might beat you on occasion but I'm not sure he can win a game with is arm alone.

Special teams, just minimize the damage.  Don't kick to Banks and get what you can in the return game.  Let's cleanly field the kicks, get up the field and worry about scoring if we get lucky.  If anyone is going to break one in this game it's Banks not us.

Lastly, look for some changes on the offensive line and hopefully they address the dismal state of affairs in terms of allowing sacks at a rapid pace.

Hard to believe what we're looking at in this one.  I just hope two days from now the view is a whole lot better.

i am hoping

you guys beat KSU this week for self-centered reasons. They need to be knocked down one game.

Plus, Mom said she liked you better than them.

Ugghh

Just shows how little preseason means. This was an automatic win for us. Now? Not even close.

Insanity is just a state of mind.

I am actually somewhat hopeful this week

I think KU will bring close to their A game…will it be enough? I don’t think the PussyCats will beat themselves, so we’re going to have to earn it. Getting up early will be big IMO…no dicking around by the offense in the 1st quarter…get points on the board and build some confidence.

This game will really define our season one way or the other, I think. Lose and we may not win again…win and the North is a possibility.

Lose and we may not win again?

Really?

We have one more home game. The last home game for a set of very talented Seniors (Todd Reesing, Jake Sharp, Kerry Meier, Darrell Stuckey, Caleb Blakesly and others).

I don’t care what happens in Mancrappy, we’re not going to lose to the Bugeaters at home on Senior day.

Its scary but plausible

Apart from Texas who is going to hit us like a spider getting run over by a john deer, we can beat and lose to everyone left on our schedule. Lets hope its beat. I agree though that this is a defining game, on the road for the Cats’ superbowl. If we can show poise and win in Manhattan, it could help us get our confidence back and know we still have a shot at the North despite how poor we’ve played. Like in 2005 how we played like poo all year and then knocked off Missery and then got on a bit of a roll to murder Nebraskie (and end the 5757684838232 game losing streak) and upset North favorite ISU to get a bowl berth.
