Want the magical cure for an offense that suddenly can't score, can't move the ball and can't hold onto the football? It's not Nebraska. 9th in the country at getting to the quarterback, 2nd in the nation in scoring defense and 11th in total defense. None of these are good things. To make matters worse a Husker team that had EIGHT turnovers in one game still has a better overall turnover margin than our Jayhawks.
Amazingly Kansas' offense still looks good on paper, it's dwindling but the stats definitely don't tell the tale of the true struggling nature of this group. On the other side of the ball the defense continues to improve, a silver lining in a season in search of an answer.
Will this be the week Kansas regains it's confidence? Nebraska certainly doesn't give a lot of hope, but it's senior day and if Kansas does get the ball rolling there might never be a better game than this one for the team to really start feeling good about things again. Move the ball against the Corn and you are definitely doing something right. Guess we'll see.

Moving the ball against NU is one thing....
Actually scoring is another. Our only hope is three 40 yard + field goals by Branstetter (set up by NU turnovers).

can't move the ball?
Can’t score (enough) and can’t hold on to the ball are plenty accurate, but aren’t we still moving the ball? Haven’t many of the recent TO’s been deep in enemy territory?
Successful Branstetter FG’s would be nice (from any distance), but it would seem that our bigger hope lies in:
1. FB thrown to blue and not red or green.
2. Holding on to said FB.
3. Some opportunistic retrieval of red FB’s
4. NU’s O continuing to be as bad as their D is good.

Well put.
We can totally win this game, guys. And despite the recent run of bad games, we certainly have the ability to move the ball. Throw in some inevitable NU offensive implosions (this team lost to Iowa State at home, remember?), and we can definitely pull this off.

I disagree...I'd say it's pretty accurate to say we can't move the ball...
OU total yards 305
TTU total yardage 328
KSU total yardage 301
Those are all WELL below what this offense has done and is expected to do.
Also most of our recent TO’s have actually been on our side of the fifty if not inside our own 20 at times.
CU put up 14 points on turnovers where they started with the ball inside the 5.
OU, yes we did turn it over in enemy territory but only once and that went the other way for 6. The others on our side of the 50.
Tech we fumbled 3 times on our side of the field setting up scores for the opponent.
against KSU Todd fumbled twice on our side of the field. The interception did occur when we were driving.
Yes this team has at times shown the ability to move the ball but right now it’s a rarity and that’s the problem. There is no flow or rhythm and it’s killed the offense.
As far as your 1-4…couldn’t agree more.

Yay
Non-fuzzy Jayhawk!
Also, turnover margin and punting: losing the field position battle really doesn’t help a struggling offense much.
Insanity is just a state of mind.

I wonder if...
we got the entire KU football team and staff drunk……would they play better?

The real matchup debate is
Do I start my morning with screwdrivers or bloody marys? Debate.

bloody mary's at Louise's...
I might make that stop…if you see a guy with a Blue Kansas Jayhawks Adidas shirt, like the AD issued ones that are breathable. Underneath a long sleeve gray undershirt and I’ve got a beard…just holler Denver, I’ll look for a guy who looks like Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Haha noice
I’ll be the guy with a K or a U painted on my bare chest, taking IBProfin with my drink to erase the previous night’s dealings :)
That does sound good though. Which Louise’s do you frequent, and how good are their bloody mary’s?

I frequent West...
and their bloody mary’s are well worth it….another good hangover cure is a schooner of red beer. Tomato Juice mixed in with a schooner of beer. Does wonders.

Makes me gag thinking about it.
Why ruin the taste of beer with tomato juice? I’ve never understood that.
I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.

it's not bad at all honestly....
I never made a standard practice of it, but it wasn’t too bad for choking down that first beer after a long night the night before.

Gotta side with Warden
I like Bloody Mary’s but I will not ruin beer with juice. I like beer too much to mix juice with it. UNLESS its summer brew on a hot day. Summer Brew + pool side = championship.
For a hungover grad, a bloody mary coupled with a bit of breakfast gets rid of a hangover quick. If I’m bad from the night before I just need to a) eat something b) chug 50 ccs of water/gatorade.
And let that be a lesson for you kids out there. If you want to avoid a crappy next morning be sure and hydrate the previous day. If you know you are going out to do paint the town, drink a ton of water all day and as much as you can while also drinking your sauce. Will you be peeing A LOT? Sure, but the next day you won’t wake up feeling like you have a truck on your head.
Stay safe out there. And always remember, baby turtles and alligators may seem like good ideas for a pet now. But they get bigger.
