Open Game Thread :: Saturday October 3rd
Sorry for getting t his up so late. For those of you who are my Facebook friend, you probably know why. In any case, here is your OGT for the rest of the day.
Next week is Fall Break, and I'm staying in the Nati, so I should have a lot more free time (after Wednesday, at least) to start posting contenta gain. I know, I can hardly believe it either

Who's winning Farmageddon ???
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

guess not....
I think it’s funny that the name has really caught on everywhere. This game has become a mockery.

I thought the name was quite funny,
but in sort of a positive way. It’s a fitting takeoff on both schools agricultural backgrounds, and it shows they"re not afraid to have some fun at their own expense.(Especially with both schools struggling at the moment)

Crickets...crickets...
It's rather ironic that people will actually have to pay money to see Michael Moore's new Anti-Capitalism film, don't you think?

Morningstar suspended for the first semester
story here.

what the hell is going on around there?
can’t anyone exercise some self control and commons sense.

Evidently not, I'm afraid
Bad timing, for sure. Of course, this will just give Xavier more PT early in the season, which can only be a good thing. We all assumed X would start over Brady by the end of the year anyway. This just moves it up, which I don’t think is a bad thing at all. The circumstances, though, are pretty poor. Dumb, dumb move by Brady.

He wasn't going to play as much anyways
X will start and Itsa mea Mario Little should be healthy and ready to roll at the three as well, hopefully.

Saw that.
Expected Morningstar to have a little better sense than that. He may have cemented a lot of bench time with that move.

Oops. I confused that with your earlier fanshot Bensa.
Not surprised he got slammed considering the abysmal timing.

Looks like
KC88’s computer crashed, which means we may not see him on here much in the next couple weeks.
And there was much rejoicing???
We kid because we love, KC!

Sounds like you were drinking with Brady. :)
Too soon? Oh well. I’m a bad person.

I just ate some Count Chocula
And it was simply amazing

Milk or beer as the softening agent?
by hunter s. royal on Oct 3, 2009 3:28 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I never even considered beer
What a monumental mistake on my part. Some Guinness would have gone well with it :)

Cuts the sugar and brings out the chocolate flavor.
True connoisseurs prefer it that way.

Nouveau Mexico just tied it with TTech
And when the kicker hit the PAT, I’m pretty sure the PBP announcer said his last name was “A-Hole”

Interesting
ATM appears to be legit. How does this shake up the Big 12 South race? The entire conference?

they have four very tough intradivision games ahead
though they do look to be much improved

Oops. They don't look so legit now.
Just went down 14-10.

Hopefully I get to at least watch Miami get its ass kicked tonight.
I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.

OU is letting them stay in it.
They picked Jacory a couple of times early and could have hammered them, but they’ve screwed around too much in the scoring zone. Not much of a killer instinct.

Yeah, OU has 11 minutes to find a way to win this one.
Although after hearing “boomer sooner” for the thousandth time, I’m about to start cheering for Miami.

Anyone notice...
…that Southern Miss got beat by a 1-3 UAB team Thursday night? Sounds like Southern Miss laid an egg with 3 turnovers including an INT returned for a TD. They were also without Damion Fletcher and DeAndre Brown due to injuries. Surprisingly, UAB ran for over 200 yards on a normally stout Southern Miss run defense.
I was kinda hoping Southern Miss would win out the rest of the way (which would include beating Houston).

I missed that,
though wasn’t Fletcher their QB who had a great game against us? That is disappointing, but probably not surprising they were flat after losing a close game and having a short week.
I still don’t know what to think about the Big 12 North.

Fletcher
is their star RB who is seeking his 4th straight 1,000 yard season. We actually held him in check outside of a long screen pass. Austin Davis is their QB and you’re right he had a great game against us.

oops - reply fail
this was meant to be a reply to hunter.

Thanks for the correction.
College athletes get so hyped it’s typical for them to have significant letdowns after a tough loss(or big win) but Southern Miss seemed solid enough I didn’t think they’d collapse. Maybe they’re saving it all up for Houston.

So UTEP is tied with Houston at the half
and Duke kept up with Va Tech for most of the game….our non-conference opponents are doing well today…well except for USM the other day but of course as was mentioned before they didn’t have their two star players on offense
by jco8394 on Oct 3, 2009 10:04 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Final UTEP 58 Houston 41
Case Keenum threw a crap ton….76 attempts……UTEP’s RB ran all over Houston’s D….260 something yards rushing I believe…it was a pretty fun game to watch

Conference USA is strait up wild.
