WIBW -- Holt to Play for Texas in Texas vs. Nation Game
Well, this is good news. I love, love, love James Holt, and it would be super-cool to see him get a real shot in the NFL. I think he's too much of a tweener to really make it, but you never know.

Good news
Either James needs to pack on 20 lbs. of muscle and beef up to LB size, or drop 15-20 lbs. and learn to play SS. I think he could be a hell of a SS, with his background as a LB, stuffing the run. Not so sure about the deep pass coverage though…

Yep.
I haven’t heard about which way he’s going to try and go. If I were him, and I would guess he is doing this, is to call a couple of NFL scouts/talent evaluators/etc. and see which they think he has a better shot at sticking at.
I’d guess safety, he has the speed to play, and NFL LBs have to be so big. But, really, I think he could do both if he had to.
He'll catch on somewhere
and hang around and get some practice reps, and maybe catch a lucky break with an injury and get a chance to prove what he can do. At least I hope so.
