OGT Roll Call: vs. Texas A&M (1/19)

Another fantastic game from our Jayhawks, another fantastic effort from our community here at RCT. The fast pace tapered off in the second half, as the game quickly became a blowout, but some off-topic discussions (namely, an incredibly intriguing discussion regarding classes you've had with Kansas players; awesome stuff) and the most diverse cast of commenters we've ever had still allowed 539 comments in total. Including two postgame cameos from giants and KCsince88, the tally ended up at eleven participants.

With all of that said, here are the digits.

Roll Call: Denverjhawk, giants9107, rockchalk, Hoopinion, Warden11, e jayhawk, KennyGregoryRockThaCradle, Danny Satan, hunter s. royal, labbadabba, KCsince88

Again, in the non-moderator category, MVP honors go to Warden11. 94 comments isn't tremendous, but in this spread-out, wide-open race, it was enough to earn him honors. Also, KCsince88 earns honorary mention for, via Denver, delivering the first at-site comments in the history of Rock Chalk Talk.

Also, thanks go out to Hoopinion and e jayhawk, who both joined their first Open Game Threads since the explosion of comments.

That’s a great addition. Live reporting at its finest.

I just got back from your mom's basement.

Nice we're starting to get such diversity.

I think it’s useful to get opinions from Jayhawk fans from all over the country. The KC area is insular enough if you just read the KC Star & Lawrence Journal World I sometimes don’t appreciate the reach of Jayhawk fandom. Fascinating to get people firing in their takes from all over the U.S. Let’s keep it up. I’m sure if we can make another final four RCT will foot the bill for us to all get together there.

I’d like to see somebody put their money where their mouth is :D

This would make for another wonderful FanPost from yours truly… Hey, I’m just sayin’ ;)

speaking of diversity...

noticed today we had someone on from Rome Italy arrive at the site through a Google search…sure would be interesting to get some global flare around here.

Well since this is a historic moment...

I would first like to thank my Jayhawks, without whom, I wouldn’t have anywhere to report from, or anything to report on. YOU’RE MY BOYS BLUE!! I’d also like to thank the guy that woke me up yesterday and inspired me. I’d like to thank Jack Daniel’s, because, well, I think that one’s self explanatory. (You’re my boy, too!) I’d like to thank the people at Apple, for creating such a wonderful device as the iPhone, allowing me to access Facebook Chat via Facebook Mobile to communicate with Denver. And, last but certainly not least, I’d like to thank Denver, for among many reasons, painting such an elegant picture of alcohol-induced actions. The line I am most fond of, something to the effect of, “I’m sure KC88 is the picture perfect example of class right now.” I’m sure I was :D
