The Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader alleged Monday that Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self might have had inappropriate contact over the weekend with John Wall, a 6-foot-4 point guard currently rated as the nation’s top high school recruit.
According to a column that ran in Monday’s edition of the paper, Self approached Wall, who was playing in a tournament in Springfield, after a game and said, "Johnny, great win man. You really played well."
Whoops. I doubt anything will come out of such a minor incident, but it provides some fodder for the rival schools, and it just isn't good for the national perception.
By the way, here is the actual newspaper article that spells out the infraction.

excerpt from the article...
I called Missouri State NCAA compliance officer Kyle Yates, curious of Self’s behavior. Yates insisted what Self did was wrong, but not unique, as I suspected.
“(He) definitely shouldn’t have done that, but it’s not uncommon,” Yates said. “If he would have sat him down and had a conversation, that would have been a big deal.”
…all in all was it smart, no. Do other coaches do things like this, yes. Will anything happen, no. Will it matter in the recruitment, no…I really don’t think we get Wall and in fact I believe he was said to be there evaluating a Junior player and not there specifically for wall.
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
The thing I get tired of
is how every KU hater (Tiggers especially) jump on things like this as proof of how “sleazy” our program is and bring up such things as Arthur’s alleged grades issue, etc. I agree what Self did probably wasn’t in the best judgement but this is a far cry from things like what Kelvin Sampson and others have done as far as true violations go. If anything, the NCAA will call him up, give him and/or Lew a verbal reprimand and leave it at that.

Tiggers as in Mizzou?
hahahaha. They don’t want anyone to look through Quinn’s years.
I just got back from your mom's basement.
Best thing he did...
was completely own up to it publicly as well as informing KU right away. I can understand the investigation, but I wouldn’t expect anything significant to materialize.
This is such
a non-issue I don’t even want to talk about it. What coach in major CBB doesn’t bend the rules like this?!?!
