It has been a busy summer for Nathan Scheelhaase. The standout Rockhurst quarterback has spent the last few weeks visiting universities all over the country. The time is almost here for Scheelhaase to make a verbal commitment to the college of his choice. You can see him do that live on Metro Sports. Be sure to tune in to Metro Sports Talk at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 16 for Scheelhaase's decision.

KC On Demand -- Scheelhaase's Decision

He is supposedly an Iowa lean, but KU and a handful of other schools (Oklahoma and Nebraska primarily) have a shot. He is a stud, and would make our already-stellar class a jaw-dropper.

interesting. do you think KU has an actual chance?

do you have any more info on the kid’s ability? 5-star level guy?

He's a 4-star guy...

QB right now, and all indications are that he will be given every opportunity to play the position in college, but has more-than-enough athleticism to move to WR if he doesn’t cut it at QB.

He is making an official visit to KU this weekend, which would seem to indicate that he is at least considering Kansas. The most likely scenario, IMO, is that he really likes Iowa (his dad played at Iowa, with Bob Stoops actually, which is partly why OU is being considered) and is seeing if Kansas beats it over the weekend.

He is also really good buddies with Jordan Cotton, a 3-star WR from Iowa, and they are going on the official visit together this weekend. We have very little chance with Cotton, but if Scheelhaase comes to Kansas our slim chance becomes a very real possibility.

Just the fact that we are being mentioned in the final cut on these ‘primetime’ players is extremely exciting for me, considering where we were when Mangino showed up.

i agree. we need another good season to continue that trend, but we need to start landing a few of these guys like we see missouri doing.
