Collins Sued For Harrassment
Not good news. Apparently, Collins was sued, and failed to respond to a potential trial date within the mandatory 20 day window, or whatever. In any case, the allegations seemed contrived, and hopefully in another couple of weeks/months everything will be completely smoothed out. Because if not, uh-oh.

come on guys
This has been in the news for a while, and you have still yet to even touch on the fact that Mario is staying in the draft. You give a full season of run down BS on our baseball team that is one of the worst in the nation, and coming off a national championship in a program our school is known for, and we can’t even get draft updates or anything? I expected better from yall. The closest thing to basketball you put up is about Collins getting frisky in an elevator? What about the Suns seemingly locking in on Rush with their top pick? You know, the NBA draft, with 3 potential first round Jayhawks is right around the corner. It’s a lot closer than anything football, and to be honest, it’s a hell of a lot more interesting than any guesses of what a DII team might be able to do. Please, cover the things that matter to the fans, such as our basketball team (I hear they are usually pretty good!)
I plan on doing a pre-draft little projection thingy
for all five eligible Jayhawk draftees.
However, I’m not going to talk about the Celtics winning an NBA Championship, that isn’t what this blog is about. If you want Finals coverage, check out the Celtics blog, Green Bandwagon.
About the Draft updates and stuff, would you rather me pass on an article or whatever saying that Rush is going to be drafted 15 to the Suns? I’m being serious, if that is of popular demand then I should oblige. That being said, that kinda-stuff is all over the intraweb, where I think the purpose of a blog is to provide you analysis and stuff, not necessarily news.
I could very easily be wrong, though, and I will try and post more draft updates and the like.
Obviously, if most of the members found this blog, we check ESPN and Rivals and sites like that, but we don’t all have their particular insider reports. Things like prospect watch/tracking would be awesome for fans. Finding much on KU prospects, even most of our basketball guys, is tough. I didn’t know a single thing about our baseball recruiting class for last year until I read an article in the Daily Kansan about Tony Thompson. There are things that the average fan will find, but there are things that yall are obviously better at reporting. I wasn’t saying specifically Rush to the Suns rumor, but that is a lot more relevant right now than Louisiana Tech. Those are very good reads and such, but they shouldn’t be the focus right now. I realize that the one guy does baseball only, but in general, there should be more of the sports that draws a bigger fan base. Obviously I support all our teams, I’ve been to baseball and track and womens soccer and tennis matches. With that said, I still want to hear more about the basketball team than the others, especially when it is a pertinent topic.

That's fair.
You are right, I am not devoting nearly enough time to basketball. That should change shortly, but it should have been that way from the beginning.
continued
...or how about Paul Pierce (KU grad) carrying Boston to a NBA title? Or how about any updates on guys like Darnell Jackson, Sasha Kaun, and Russel Robinson. Robinson competed at the Orlando pre-draft camp I know for sure. Who is covering their chances to be drafted? Please, just be a good blog again like this was earlier in the year. This makes me sad and upset to see the lack of anything here.
BS
I happen to be a baseball writer. So that BS you speak of is what i do.
And it is VERY FAR from one of the worst in the nation.
but you would have to pay attention and actually watch some games to know such things.
a true fan doesnt just love the basketball team.
thanks.
I realize they aren’t one of the “worst in the nation”, but they are bottom feeders in the Big 12. I did watch their games. I lived 3 minutes walking distance from the stadium, and that is counting taking the stairs. I parked every day behind the stadium. I was there, trust me. Not trying to rag on them a ton, and hearing about them is great, but to question basketball at KU is wrong. Our recruiting prowress is not that great, and our pitching has been hit or miss, usually miss. I was at the baseball games, but trust me, the basketball team is a lot more interesting and will actually bring readers to this blog.
Collins was cleared of all charges today. There was no/not enough evidence to convict him. Collins says he hopes the results of the trial will help restore his good name. Collins’ lawyer is filling for all monetary results be cleared since he was unaware his previous lawyer had stopped working with/for Collins.
