Shaeffer Hall pitched brilliantly leading the Jayhawks to an impressive 3-0 shutout of the Missouri Tigers at Kauffman stadium. Hall went seven innings before turning the ball over to Paul Smyth. The pitching was backed by a solid defensive effort and timely hitting. The Kansas runs came on a Ryne Price solo homerun in the 2nd (his 10th) and a two run single by John Allman in the eighth inning.
The Border Showdown game at Kauffman drew an unexpectedly large crowd of 3,847, making the first of what I expect will become an annual event a success. Kansas heads into this weekend's conference series vs. Oklahoma with momentum. First pitch Friday at Hoglund will be at 6PM.
