Orange Bowl Memories

We'll be talking about last night for 50 years. What was your favorite part?

I think I'll go with the fake punt. For the past month, we've heard nothing but how great Beamerball's special teams were, and we were able to outsmart them at their own game. Kind of a microcosm for the whole season- superior coaching overcoming any perceived difference in talent level.

My favorite moment came early
Talib's pick-6 in the first quarter.

I brought a bottle of Champaign to the get-together and we decided to pop the cork when the Hawks scored their first touchdown.  We felt they deserved the toast for the whole season, win or lose last night.  Out of the blue, Hawks up 7-0 and we were scrambling for the bottle.

I remember thinking something like, "if we are going to win this game, it will be because of plays like that."

I voted for the blocked FG
It wasn't my favorite play, but I think it was the most important. It deflated Va Tech and kept it a two score game after Reesing's TD run.

My favorite play was the bad snap that bounced back up to Reesing who then scrambled a bit before lofting a perfect pass between two defenders. It was beautiful.

most important play of the game
was the blocked FG, hands down.

my favorite play, though, is a tie. i absolutely loved the quote by aqib talib, and it is very true. so that is one half.

but as far as on the field, my favorite play was the justin thornton INT returned to the 3 or whatever. i was sitting right in that corner, and it looked like he was running straight towards us. awesome feeling, and as soon as he picked it off i was as sure as ever we were going to win.
